Hey, that's excellent feedback, thank you. Using candy on the pressure plates is definitely an exploit I should fix (only the player or crates should activate them). And forcing those progression doors to fully lock behind the player is a good fail-safe.

I'm going to do an update build in the next couple of days and will get those fixes in. Thanks so much!

Getting major Boom Blox vibes! That was fun, but it took me a while to figure out scoring and what "in bucket" meant. I got a crash one time at the start of a level.

I like the camera and speed controls. Felt like I had all the control I needed, but I still got my butt kicked!

Fullscreen confirmed! Thanks. I'll post if I have more feedback.

Hey, the main character is really nicely designed! All around I think it's a good concept that just needs more polish. Combat in particular could be more exciting. Also, when I got to the door where the character says "Hmm." I think there was supposed to be a puzzle, but I just walked through the door with no collision.

Excited to see future updates!

Cool vibes sneaking around! I got to the room with the knife and E prompt, but was unable to pick it up and had to restart. Next playthrough I made it through the courtyard, but eventually got stuck because of the door bugs. Doors are probably the biggest issue.

Also, are you using dropbox to get around the 1GB restriction? I didn't see a lot of memory usage (no textures), so you might want to look into slimming down the build. UE5 has a ton of plugins active that might not be used, and you can compile to shipping build to reduce size as well.

Thanks for posting!

Hey, this is pretty fun! It looks like some kind of group project because I see different level authors' names. Is this based on an existing Quake pack for Unreal, or did your team convert the Quake assets yourself?

- It's a little confusing which level you are supposed to start on.

- "Ghislaine' Gym" drops the player through the ground on start.

- The church/candle themes look good, would be great to see final art version.

- Game does not pause on the pause menu.

- No invert look option available.

- Some of the levels have incorrect/buggy thumbnails.

Definitely interested in future releases. Thanks for posting!

Great atmosphere and interesting concept. The tutorial helped me figure out how to patch holes, but somehow I missed the fishing net mechanic until later. In the end, I LIVED! gg

Nice game! I really wanted to crush that little army guy tho!

Hey, this is pretty cool! But the inside of the ship is so dark and the game is playing in a window. Is there a way to toggle fullscreen mode? My desktop was much brighter than the game, which made it hard to play.

I got to the end!

Hello. I'm Tylak. I've been developing games for a long time, but never released anything on itch.io until today!

https://tylak.itch.io/sourpuss

The game is called Sourpuss, which is the name of a race of grumpy aliens that like to eat candy. You play as the cosmic bounty hunter DANGERWIND who has to defeat them. The game features a hand illustrated cartoon introduction and one medium sized level filled with puzzles. Gameplay time is about half an hour, depending on how quickly you solve the puzzles.

The game is made in Unreal 5, so you need to download it in Windows to play, and you should have a dedicated GPU to run it (gaming PC/laptop). You can play with keyboard/mouse or a game controller. There is a bug where skipping the intro cartoon doesn't work properly with controller and you have to use the Esc key (working on a fix!).

I'm really excited to join the itch.io community with this effort. I set the game as donation-ware, so please feel free to play for free before you decide if it's worth a contribution. Ultimately I would like to expand Sourpuss into a larger game. What I've posted today is more of a first act in a four act structure I've designed.

Feedback is very welcomed! Especially if I missed any expected feature in the store page or game itself.

So good luck, have fun, and SAVE THE GALAXY!
