Yeah that sounds cool, could be a good idea.
Maybe make it a bit hidden away so there's a default play style and then theres the playstyle with modifiers?

May I ask why you don't have a web version? :)

I am back, and... I forgot to check my new highscore.. shit..

Well I atleast gave it more time, got some upgrades, the nuke. BUT there's one thing that made me not want to continue playing, that being, the longer you play, the fast the block moved. Probably intended for it to be a challenge, but I actually enjoyed the a little slower speed, so I had time to think. It was relaxing, at the end it got a little stressful.

Would be awesome if you added an option for it atleast :)

I really like it, I could see it becoming a mobile game too

And I replied to the wrong person here lol

What, you can click/hold down arrow to speed up the block. and Up arrow insta drops it

Crazy good work! You got yourself a new fan

Could use improvement:

  • Health bar should probably not go into minus.
  • When looking to the left you can flip the weapon sprite so its not backwards lol.
  • When landing on enemy, the player should have to click a ready button before battling, else they could lose the run if they're not paying attention.
  • Wouldn't mind having a tooltip for the stats on the right, for a description of what it does.
  • Needs music! D;

Big fan of the art here!
This is my favorite art style :)

Actually the wheel you have, where you spin for some outcome, is kinda what I had envisioned for my game, but I didn't have time to implement that unfortunately.

The weapons were really cool, the juice was there. Not gonna lie, one of my top games played this game jam!

You're expanding on this idea after the jam, right..?

nvm, its because the wheel refreshes in the background. It should only refresh when you're ready to spin again in my opinion

Had a bug where I landed on an enemy but got to forge/upgrade my weapon instead. Forgot to screenshot ;(

I think you cooked with your idea.
thank you <3

The visuals make me think you guys have done games before :D

Someone else pointed out that you can click right before the wheel slows down and it spins again, I think that is a really cool FEATURE not a BUG lol, should totally leave that in, because when you reroll, the wheel is sped up and it becomes a little skill based to land something good

The art is really cool, cool concept ngl

I think the xp was gained in a much quicker pace than the paper things, and the application sound was a bit annoying but other than that, it felt very well done, I'm impressed!

Hey!

Sure I'll link mine :)

Forgebound by Twikzz

I’m excited for what you guys are gonna come up with!

My highscore is 136, mark my words I'll be back to beat it tomorrow!

ah interesting, my friend wants us to implement A LOT of cards :D

<3

In his game's description

Thank you! Initial idea was not a card game, something about my idea of abilities in my game, turned into using cards instead, kinda happy I pivoted early for that. I think I got my vision through pretty good despite everything I had to sit down and learn at once.

The beginning of the game is supposed to be a little more boring and easier, to try to make the later rounds be more challenging and fun, adding more difficulty, variations in card and upgrades you get in later rounds. Time went by really quick and suddenly I didn't have time to add more cards or enemy mechanics. I had boss mechanics and more buffs/debuffs planned, along with more enemies. Juniper said something about keeping the scope down and making it polished in her videos so I tried that instead.

I really like the idea, the upgrade reveal was supposed to be a fortune wheel actually, but I ran out of time, so its an "animation" of it selecting the card for you instead.

Adding cards for the enemy to play would be really cool, would have added a whole other element to the game to balance.

All of your ideas sound really nice and I will do a rewrite of the code for a better foundation to develop further and then update it more, me and my friend developing it really liked how it turned out so we also want to see where we can take it.

Appreciate you taking your time! <3

It's in a bit of a rough state, but it's of course a prototype as you said in the description.

kinda see the vision here, feels like the sword idea has potential, I think it needs to be more obvious when you hit the enemies.
You know what would be cool, some cool abilities that are different for all swords, maybe some rarer swords has abilities and some more common doesn't. I see you've got an inventory in mind, so that's cool.

I like the concept, intrigued to see where you're taking it!

All things considered, actually a bit enjoyable for what it is currently :)

Good luck!

aah nice! I put all the balancing of the game off until the last few hours, really underestimated what goes into it. Glad you liked it <3

If I were to continue developing the game, what would you like to see? post jam :)

Everyone should play this game at least once.

These guys have some serious potential

You're crazy, Go for it!

Lemme know how it goes :)

:D
I think your discord invite link is broken

Fun and cool game,

I like the art :)

haha thank you, yeah I should pimp my menu

Sure I can try out your game after work

It was fun, felt like I could just keep going

nice :)

Game of the year!

- My experience got put down a bit by the snow storm thing being all around me and killing me at one point.
- I dont think the theme had a strong presence with only having spin to boost damage, maybe could have had some more spinning mechanics for the player in some way to make you need to spin perhaps haha
- And the biggest thing, my mouse input was kinda weird, it was fine if I moved the mouse a lot, but if I stopped moving it, and tried moving it a small amount it kinda glitched and didnt register my mouse moving.

Other than that, I think you have something great going on and should totally keep updating it post jam!

The mechanics were cool and I liked the telegraphing of the moves

Cute!

Want more obstacles to dodge.

Maybe some powerups could be a fun addition?

oo boss battles?? new idea for u there guys ;D

(1 edit)

got to exactly 2000M!
I wanted more obstacles!

I wish there was some more tooltips for stuff like the resource, showing your production and demand of it.

Tooltips for what the buildings do aswell!

Really enjoyed the art style, keep it up!

The music could use some work, it sounded fine but was repetetive for the five minutes.

Will be cool to see what you could make this game into if you decide to iterate further on it :)

Very calm, hectic game. Didn't understand the mechanics until halfway in haha
Feels like working in real life, you get thrown in without a tutorial :D

Would have wished that there was some way to cancel a faulty burger, and some background music!

Cute game tho

That's really nice to hear, if it really is a nice foundation, I might continue updating the game!

I tried really hard to make the game a challenge to beat, but not too hard. It's a fine line for sure.

You know what would have been cool, a nice background story to the game!

I had more cards and animations planned, but had to stop changing and creating systems, to polish the game instead because work came in the way! D;

Appreciate your kind words! ;D

If there's one thing I wished was better with my game, it would be the theme implementation. Had so much planned, it was either a really good theme implementation or a playable game in the end. Now that I have some experience I will be able to plan better next time!

I did my best :)

How far did you get? :)

I want to add more content actually, will have to wait a week atleast

<3 :D
