the saves are kept elsewhere from the game, just download the new version and you should be able to load your save from the old version

but make sure the save you load is in the town square

Yeah I got that same thing although I can't remember if it was the same character, confused me a bit

I found it a little unintuitive that if you click away to another menu on the votes screen without hitting dismiss you can't do anything until you go back to that screen, I thought I had totally broken something and was only able to figure it out by going back steps. could pay to have some sort of notice on screen about what phase you are in maybe.
