I followed the last tutorial on Bastiaan Olij youtube channel and made the spectator camera follow a marker inside the vehicle scene.
I was about to record a video to ask for help setting up the flat screen subviewport. but ended up working fine. so I can show how the project is going

the camera got bugged a couple times in the rails. but the game looks great and feels fast paced
the tutorial is a bit too long, if you die during it you have to start the whole thing over. the game is quite hard but it looks great
