That's amazing! I appreciate the subtitles :)

How complicated are physical releases anyway? I wonder if I should look into it for one of my projects.

This was one of the highlights of the jam for me. Simple, but clear and beautifully executed. I love the stage select screen. If I were to change anything, I'd suggest speeding up the post-stage scoring screen :)

Cozy! I like the portraits and the button mashing animation :)

How'd you make the letter screen scroll in like that?

Happy to hear it! :)

I'm actually working on an update for this one as well, but it's ballooned out of control a bit. Peasant Republic is likely to be updated much sooner. Will try to put together a devlog teaser anyway. It's been a while.

Good to hear! I'll probably keep the German naming theme for the update :)

I'm working on a post-jam update. Not sure how long it'll be before I release it, but at the very least it'll update the art, rebalance the maths and expand the story (had to cut down on the number of bosses and focus on tightening the gameplay to get it out on time). Some of the mechanics were originally meant to be more complex, so I might prototype that as well and see how it feels (might be a case of less is more).

Feedback is always welcome regardless. Knowing what people liked or didn't like about the jam version is sure to make the update a much better game :)

Glad you enjoyed it! :)

cheers

Reign the tabletop RPG? I wasn't thinking about it at the time, but I think I see what you mean. Interesting observation! Thank you :)

Glad to hear it! How far did you get?

This is great! Really leaning into the jam limitations.

I listened to the podcast! Thank you for the kind words :)

Spent about half the time just writing, but I still had to cut plenty of events. So it's good to hear that it still feels complete and polished :)

That sounds great! It's just a shame I can't be there personally. Maybe you can point people to the survey :P

And yeah, twitter seems completely broken lately. Just not sure what to replace it with yet.

Thank you! I'm glad you liked it :)
I do technically have a twitter. I don't use it much, but feel free to tweet at me. Might post some behind the scenes sketches there, eventually. Or maybe I'll just add them to this entry as a PDF.

I would really appreciate if you answer the survey (if you haven't already). Especially if you've finished the game more than once and gotten multiple endings. It helps give me a sense of what is and isn't working.

Thank you! I'm glad you liked it :)
If it's not too much trouble, can I ask you to fill in the player survey? It'll inform my updates if I ever get around to them.

Looks promising! I dig the art direction and the rhythm gameplay is impressive for the Game Boy (although I'm terrible at rhythm games - is it actually possible to fail? because I don't know how I succeeded). Settings screen does not appear to work and I found the font a bit hard to read. Really solid pixel art though :)

Simple, stylish, clear game&watch DNA (although g&w games tend to be a lot more grid oriented, for obvious reasons). I had some slight graphical issues (line of random colours across the screen on the title screen after one of my game overs) but nothing that affected gameplay. You may also want to adjust the resolution on the HTML, since there are big black bars on the sides. My current high score 25 :)

While I'm not super into breakout style games, I like the presentation and the progression of this one. I did have a game breaking bug where the ball went out of bounds on the left wall (maybe I hit it too close to the wall?) and the game just got stuck there. Otherwise, good job :)

Impressed how fully featured an rpg this is for GB Studio! I like the use of hearts for health and the minimalist combat backdrop. Would suggest making it a bit faster if you develop the concept further. I think it's more important to eliminate another click every turn than to make sure the player really meant to attack :)

I appreciate the feedback! If you have time, I just put up a survey. It'll inform my updates if I ever get back to this :)

Thank you :)

And yes, I would definitely have added more conversations if I'd had more time.
