Yes this is the spirit. Out of curiosity did you have a chance to give it a try? How far were able to go?

Yes, replayability is one of the things I'm looking at now.

I want to keep the core loop simple, satisying and endless rather than add lots of changing objectives. Block Blast is one reference for that rhythm: mostly stable rules, with occasional situations that force you to think more carefully.

For Lex Blast, I'm experimenting with periodic challenge rounds, for example starting from a single central anchor and a more constrained rack, to create those moments of extra tension without changing the core game.

Do not hesitate if you have ideas or recommendations.

Hey all,

I’m looking for feedback on Lex Blast, a browser-based word game I’m currently developing.

Itch.io project page: https://tristan-bytes.itch.io/lexblast

I’m mainly trying to evaluate the player experience before deciding what to work on next. In particular:

  • Is the core mechanic understandable without much explanation, and does the first game feel intuitive?
  • After reaching Game Over, did you feel like starting another game?
  • Did anything feel frustrating, repetitive, or too slow?
  • How do the sound effects and word celebrations feel?

Thanks for any feedback.

Cheers,
Tristan
