I don't know if this idea is feasible...

In terms sound/dialogue, you might try and explore a "mumbler" (dialogue creator) of sorts. Some people find "reading dialogue without vocals" a bit disengaging. But, with a "mumble creation tab" your users won't have to find voice actors (which complicates things). They could just assign long or short "mumbling sounds" to each dialogue line.

The trick is to find a way to "stretch, speed up, raise and lower the pitch" for each character. I forgot to add a preview/play button to  my dummy tab below... but I hope it gives you an idea of what I'm trying to say.

And OBVIOUSLY your users will be free NOT to use this mumbler, if they are happy with text-only games.

Here are some samples of what the games would sound like: (I just think this would be a really fun and unique way to keep things simple... if it interests you, or if its a doable thing. I'm NOT a dev, so I would NOT know what it takes to make what I'm asking for.

Awesome! That would be amazing. From where I stand, its the only thing that's truly missing (for me)

Does this engine allow you to export? If not, are they any plans for that?

I see that this is still being sold.. can it still be played? Maybe versus a bot (offline single player matches).  If you add that tweak, I would buy it for solo matches.

Thank you very much! You are amazing, I have never seen a responsive dev like you, and I just downloaded the updated version.

I will definitely share projects with you.

I am very happy!

It's very light and well-made.

I am very happy to hear from you. I think those 2 things I suggested will make it possible to start making the kinda novels that I've ben wanting to make. You've built a special engine here. Thank you!

I will keep checking for an updated version.

(1 edit)

Wow! Your engine is the best, because of its simplicity. And I like how the end product looks. Some engines tend to have a tacky way of  presenting buttons/options. This engine makes crisp looking novels.

I have to feature requests (if possible). Which would make this engine (in my opinion perfect).

1)  May you add a tick box or a way to ensure that readers can NOT move ahead to the page until the SFX/sound file finishes playing. I intend to use the SFX option to upload mp3 narration. But, currently, people can keep going before the SFX file finishes playing

2) Would you consider adding a "node randomiser"  which selects a random node from a set/group of node options. For example: if someone selects a choice, the choice will be attached to a "randomiser" which has multiple nodes that are slightly different.

That second feature would allow authors to make replayable novels, with slight variations (randomized variations). Where the nodes  carry slightly different dialogue/text

Do you think these 2 features are doable? I personally think they will take your engine to the next level.  If version 1 can include that, I can't imagine anything else that I would need... because, everything else is already there.

Thank you very much for reading my feedback and requests

Great.

No, I haven't used either of those yet. So far I had only used Tyrano Builder and Simple Retro Light Novel Maker

Hi, that would be perfect! Yes, I would be happy to receive and use the engine in its current state. I have a game in mind.

Hi, I missed the party! I just discovered this engine today... may I get a download link for the engine (if possible). It looks like an amazingly-made engine

Is this engine still available? The link keeps taking me to a demo game, I love the game.. but, I hope to find and use the actual engine behind it

Let me know if its still available

Your software is amazing! Its one of a kind, keep on working at it. I only wish for one more thing - the ability to select a "circular tile" on the tile set. And to also make perfect cylinders/tubes

Nevertheless, this is a TOP NOTCH game development modelling tool. And, with the newly added animation features, I can't wait to try making 3d animated videos (for cut scenes, and short films/reels)

Keep up the amazing work!

Good Voxel program.. Did anyone make a standalone exe version of this?

Hi, you are doing awesome work for the Bakin community. I wanted to ask: Are you available for hire, to create some plugins for me? How much would it cost? We can chat via Twitter: @totally2d (I have followed you there) or here.

I want to make 2 plugins:

1. A plugin to allow player to draw their own map, after they explore and discover locations. Players will be able to pull up a map (press M) and see the location of their character, and then use a pointer to roughly draw what they found at that location. Or they could drag-and-drop an icon of buildings or locked chest, etc, from the map's icon menu.

2. A plug in to allow 2 players, splitscreen, couch coop.

I hope to hear from you,

Tafadzwa (@Totally2d)
