Hi! Game Development is not just about producing masterpieces, but also about having fun and improving. It's a hobby like any other, and some people choose to develop games just because they think it's fun to do. This Game Jam was made as a safe space for those who are interested in Game Development, but are too afraid of getting judged for not making games that don't live up to other people's expectations.

Hope you enjoy your day! :)

Yes, there will be a winner. The prize is only a role for the Discord server though, as to discourage people from getting too competitive

It'll be graded based on how well it fits the theme, how creative your idea is, and how fun the game is to play. The Theme criteria weighs more heavily than the others though.

The jam used to not have a ranking system, but people voted for it to be implemented. The winner only gets a role for the Discord server.

If you want to win, yeah, but if you don't care about that, feel free to do whatever

Sure! No need to reinvent the wheel when it comes to coding, as long as the game itself is your own idea.
Though if you do copy an entire tutorial at some point, it'd be a good gesture to credit the tutorial on your game's page :)

The jam is held about once a month, but always during the weekend :)

Yes! You can make a game in whatever engine you choose :)

God damn, look at that build size! Half a gig just for a small game. Unreal Engine 5 chunky

I think the days are too long. It's also boring, as there isn't much going on. Otherwise though, I like the drawings.

The art is amazing. Everything about the game just gives off such an eerie vibe

Really appreciate it :)

Thanks a lot!

VERY creative. Haven't seen someone submit a traditional game like this before.

Truly a piece of art.

Made me shit and piss, but also gave me an insatiable lust to replay the Half-Life games...

Thanks, I initially wanted to make it so that your progressively got faster while holding space, just like the enemies do, but I just didn't have time to do that, as I just graduated a couple of days ago and am celebrating my 20th birthday tomorrow.

Thanks for the feedback though! And I'm glad you noticed the little feature in the main menu :)

Despite there not being much gameplay to it, the main mechanic is great and just executed so well. How did you do it? What's the trick?

Either way, great work. Only problem is that the bands seem to glitch a little if you move them around too much, but I can't see anyone doing that unless they're intentionally testing out the limitations.

How did you make the light trail thing? Do you use particles or what? It's pretty sick

Great for your first game, though I would have loved some sound effects or music

Really good for your first game. What engine do you use?

How do I download and play it?

I'm guessing you're referring to when enemies start moving faster, and thus making it harder to react?

Either way, thanks for checking out the game. I wanted to make something simple, where you would only need to use a single button, making it perfect for a mobile port, if I end up adding upgrades and such to it.

All I had time to do this week. Hope y'all enjoy it. Try beating my highscore of 45

This isn't an annual game jam, so I think the name fits quite well. The jam is a one time thing that focuses on the use of loops. I honestly can't think of a better name, than "Looped Game Jam" to describe the jam.

But then again, if you don't like the theme, just don't participate. I don't see anyone forcing you to take part in this.

Hi! Just wanted to hear about the games you're all working on for the jam.

I'm personally working on a game, where you rotate around a circle and shoot enemies.  I was inspired by Super Hexagon, but I won't be handling movement the same way. I might add upgrades if I find I have time to do so, as I am pretty busy the coming week.

Hope you all have fun creating! Can't wait to see what you come up with :)

Bruh, just don't participate if ya don't like the theme
