Thanks so much for the kind words and playing! The bug you're talking about was an intended mechanic at first, because the max button is on click set to the toggled texture, so I thought it would be apparent, that it is indeed pressed and toggled on. However after many (like a lot) people complained about it I now see it wasn't the best design decision :D. If we ever come back to this game, that will be the first thing I'm going to fix :) Thanks for the feedback and I hope you nonetheless enjoyed your time in the Catsino!

Sure thing, I played it on the website you linked and it was quite fun and I gave it a review!

Wait you're right. Then I just got confused for no reason lmao. Probably had a long day :D Sorry for the confusion :D

Oh yeah this was really nice. The artstyle is so lovely, it all looks so great together. I also like the fact that you were considerate and made it quite short while showing off all the work you had done. And the ending was just a chefs kiss. Really good job, I hope your learning journey and relationship only flourishes in the future :)

Wow, this was amazing! The game was really fun, the puzzles were intuitive, but at the same time the respective doohickeys got their time, so you could learn them. You managed to create quite a long game, but one that is still fun after all the time. That being said I rage quit after the level with two balloons, cheese and the bird. After my fifth attempt I did not want to do it all over again. Balloon and Bird are easily F tier just because of this :D

Great job all of you, this was so awesomesauce

Thats the integer limit in godot :D So, good job that is the actual current endgame :D and you actually got further than me, I called it quits after round 33, wow!

Thanks a lot! Haha, yeah, all three of us got it stuck in our heads basically on day 3 of the jam, so we can definitely relate.  I swear, I have no idea what addicting thing is in that songs, but it sticks and never leaves.

Thanks so much!

Alright, I am pretty much at a loss here. I was asking about the operating system in case we could somehow replicate your error, to run it on our own computers. The three versions of the game (browser, windows, linux) should be the same ones. Just to make sure, which windows version are you on and what browser are you using? I am personally on firefox and it works correctly, so maybe try that?

One more thing we could try is to just click the places, where the buttons should be and hope that the only broken scene is the main menu. Under the post I'm posting the way it should look like, lets hope it works :D.

Also, did this happen with any other game in the jam or just this one?

oh my! thats weird. so does the thing in the screenshot happen both in the browser version and the downloaded one? also what operating system are you on, windows or linux?

not trying to be annoying here, i would just like to help :)

Thanks so much! We might come back to it after the jam, so maybe keep an eye out ;)

Happy to hear that! We might come back to this one after the jam ends, there have been a bunch of suggestions from this comment section and our own ideas that should make the game a more pleasurable experience. If we decide to do that, so thanks for the response and playing!

Thanks so much for playing the game! I also beat your game Loading and I also loved it, happy to hear it's mutual :D

There's always time to learn :D

Thanks for playing and the kind words!

This one was really fun! I love your interpretation of the theme. The artstyle is awesome, the gameplay is great. The only small problem I had,was at the beginning after the training level. In which your board is the white one, but then it switches, so I lost on the first try as I was aiming to win on an opponents board :D But I possibly misread something in the text at the start. Overall a very nice experience!

This is really fun! I like the games, which use the scroll wheel as the theme and this one also does not disappoint! It is also cut at the exact time, when my finger started to hurt only a little bit, so that is great, could have been much worse :D. I also like the artstyle, I haven't played many pico8 games, so I have no idea if a windows98 appearance is very original, but it works and that is the important part :)

Oh my! This is so lovely. I love the art direction and the narrative so much. It is much different than the pixel art way most people go to. I also really like the poems, they elevate the story so much! The gameplay is in my opinion cut short at the exact right time. Had there been more rounds, it would probably benefit from more modifiers  to the spin, but this way it is in my opinion perfect. Really great job guys.

Wow! Just wow! With a lot of the games I am impressed, but here I am amazed at your creativity! Really fun spin on the theme and the narrative is just awesome! Although at some times while solving the puzzles which are supposed to teach you a new technique I got the answer straight away without really understanding the mechanic. But I learned them, with the other levels, so It's all good :D. I did also experience (i think?) a soft lock in the top right corner in the final level, but thankfully, there is a reset button :) Great job, the game is quite fun!

I love this so much. The satisfaction of hitting the fist correctly is just so immaculate. And I love your creativity with the theme of the jam. The style at first wasn't my favourite, but in the end I really like it, it fits the theme.  Really great job guys.

It's a really cure game, I LOVE the artstyle. I do not think the controls are that confusing as others are saying but I did have an issue with the timing, but thats my fault haha. And I love the frog, I hope he finds a way out of this.

I like it! There's not a lot of stuff, but it's nice and a good idea! Only little gripe is that the achievement "Capital Reserve" does not unlock permanently and it kind of hurts my completionist feelings. :D

This is a really engaging one! I personally love anything card-related and this one nails it for me mechanically. The visual style is pretty simple, but it just works. I got to 130 million on my first try, so not very close, but I understand that that was kind of the point of the game. Though if I have to say, I'm not sure if the handling of the theme was really on point...

This is one of my favourite ones so far, I love the tree for choosing your path (i love sts), the gameplay and the artstyle! I think it's a little too short, but I think you have something very nice to build upon if you try to make it into a longer game! Well done!

This was really fun! I really like both the idea and the execution. I wish it was even longer!

I really dig the artstyle! The controls are a bit tough to get around at first but that's not a bad thing! It does get a little repetitive after playing for a bit, there's not too much to do. But overall the whole game is quite charming, so it makes up for it :D

Thanks so much! It's not really a soft lock, but yeah this one is kinda on us for not having an actual tutorial, but just a "How To Play" button. The amount won on each bet isn't the same on all bets, for example the "1 to 8" bet will give you 3x the amount, as the chance for it to occur is 1/3, so there are ways to have a chance at a win even without some strong items at the start, but the way we say it is sort of hidden. But I appreciate the way you are a good sport about it! Thanks for playing!

Thanks, it's actually our first game jam entry, so that's nice to hear! :D I think the concept is really quite fun, a full steam release could potentially be a possibility in the future, who knows!

Aw thanks! That's really nice to hear! Well I will keep an eye on the new version, I think the economy hotfix will make the game even more enjoyable!

The game is so pretty! I love how... smooth? (but in a good way) everything looks and feels! You really nailed the artstyle in my opinion. The gameplay is also quite fun, but I was not able to handle the jump in difficulty on wave 8 :(.

Wow! This is really great, I really adore the artstyle, both visual and the audio! And the narrative is also just awesome! After hours of debugging our own roulette game, I never thought I would feel even more tense about a roulette this week! :D

Thanks! It means a lot to us! Balatro was one of the games that I personally took as an inspiration for when it comes to making game design choices while dealing with luck based mechanics, so this means an extra more to me <3
Hope you come back to this one for more! :D

Thanks so much! I checked out your SSPIN CORPORATION and i have to say the same thing, It's also peak, very much so! The idea of a spinning wheel is really appealing to me for some reason... :D

I enjoyed the core loop, I think the effect of every shot was very satisfying and i like the artistic choice.

However i think you did not play the game yourself very much, after like four minutes it becomes very repetitive with not much change except the price increase of the chests, which contain little to no useful content.

The wheel itself also feels like its just there with not much purpose. The first few spins select the guns, but they dont even tell you which ones you could get. And they're not balanced in my opinion. I got three blunderbusses on my first game and then a bunch of heals when i was on full hp. And then at the end of my last game for many of my wheels (when i was on 1 hp) the heals  did  not even  appear on the wheel.

Also the game just stops at the "winning" 20 minutes, the enemies and the timer freezes, not much happens, no victory screen, sad :(

But that being said, the parts that worked for me were in my opinion really good!!

First of all I quite like the artstyle, its simple, but works pretty well in my opinion.

The noise after going through each wheel segment is very satisfying, but i think there could be some more stuff to do with sounds .

The core game loop is in my opinion just unfair. And I'm trying to not say this in a way like I'm salty about not winning (I did not, after about five long attempts)I think the core mechanic being luck is not very good design when not complimented by a mechanic that the player can somehow affect. Also that being paired with punishing the player for taking too long to win (by increasing the spin cost) makes the game too difficult while not giving the player many chances. (in my opinion, one possible "solution" could be removing the cost entirely, or just not make it increase)

That being said, i think you put the game together quite nicely. I will be waiting for more games! :D

Cute game!

Also I found a bug! I died on the 6th round, got respawned, but after finishing the round on the second attempt (no more enemies were spawning) I did not get the prompt to enter the next round.
