That's a good suggestion! Thank you for giving our game a chance regardless! If you ever need any good game strats, I know the guy who programmed the fights and could give a few pointers ;) And thank you for the review!

Goodness, we're incredibly sorry that the game kept crashing! We had noticed after we uploaded it that others had experienced the same problem, though we can't patch it up until after the jam. That being said, we're extremely honoured that you pushed through to the end of what we had. Unfortunately, we couldn't finish the last two bosses (6 days is not enough, man) but will be uploading the rest of the game at a later time. Thank you for the kind review! And we're so glad you liked it!

Thank you, once again, for showing so much support to our game! Seriously, your kindness is greatly appreciated! Especially coming from a talented game developer such as yourself. We're so glad you liked Dischord 7!!! And we will be releasing a full version after the jam!

Some creative original concepts here! I love that you implemented some original art and assets! It gave the game that little extra personal touch. The stamina mechanic is interesting and works well here, only I wish players had a bit more time between having to return to the campground- especially for a game with puzzles in it (that the player will have to do multiple times). It discourages the player from exploring the beautiful cave system you've made! I think the solution to this is either more frequent checkpoints or more stamina to encourage that exploration and break up any tedium that might be found in the puzzles. I'd love to see more post jam! Cheers!

Subervsion of expectations is always fun in games! And we loved that you get 3 actions during combat instead of the standard- it allowed for more flexibility and variety during battle. We were pleasantly surprised to find so much depth in the combat system (especially during the final fight, which I won't spoil)! The items in reference to the dragon were cute too (picturing him wearing a little top hat and gloves, etc). I'm sure there were party members I missed when combing through things, or encounters I could've explored more thoroughly, but it was a good time overall.

The main thing holding the game back is of course the rtp, though you used it creatively in the way it was executed. We also encountered a scope error when playing through the game, but it doesn't seem as that has been the case for everyone. Looking forward to more in the future. Cheers!

Really fun concept and unique gameplay execution! I always admire when people are able to stretch the engine and make it work for them in unique ways. You've absolutely created something that stands out amongst the submissions! The real-time combat felt satisfying overall and uncovering the larger story regarding The Alchemist was fun and unexpected! The boss fight at the end was especially engaging and challenging (in the best way).

Unfortunately towards the later half we felt as though enemies became a bit overwhelming/clogged and they could be avoided in exchange for loss of resources. This isn't inherently a bad thing, but we did pass a few screens so that we could avoid the large number of enemies (resources were abundant enough that we didn't feel deprived for the more difficult encounters). Fun concept and well-executed! We'd love to see a full release in the future!

Absolutely LOVE the subtle world-building and narrative elements at play here! The art is gorgeous and managing the resources of the bullets felt suspenseful and rewarding! I could see some Look Outside elements here (which is one of our FAVORITE games of all time)! The music and sound effects were super well-implemented as well and added to the unsettling nature of the setting! Very well done!

The encounter rate was a little frustrating sometimes (most enemies can be juked, which I appreciated, but there wasn't really an incentive to grind enemies), but really overall this has been one of our favorite entries so far! Keep up the great work.

Thank you so, so much! That's such a huge compliment coming from you! And we're happy to hear that you liked Azzy too, haha. They're definitely one of our favorites!

Your comment really made our day!! Thank you again! ^^

Thank you so much!! We're so glad you enjoyed it!

Wow! Thank you SO much for such a kind review! We're thrilled you liked our game, and we're excited to check out yours as well!

The game IS nearly complete! We ran out of time on the last 2 bosses, but we made sure to leave it off at, what we believe, to be a satisfying stopping point. Your review absolutely made our day! Thank you, again!

Thank you so much for playing and taking the time to write a review!

Oh shoot! That did happen one time in playtesting, but we can't discern what the issue is. We'll investigate and then patch it after the jam has concluded! We're so glad you liked the game overall though! And if anyone needs dev strats to beat the bosses, ol' Toad Wart has the insider scoop. ;) Beelz is definitely one of the harder bosses though! 😬

Thank you so much for checking it out! It means a lot! And maybe that thread will be uncovered in the full release~ ;)

Wow, thank you so much! That's a huge compliment, coming from you! I'm so glad you enjoyed it overall ^^

Oh, golly! Thank you so much! That's high praise! Thank you for your generous feedback! I can't wait to get a chance to play your entry! I've been very interested since it was submitted. ^^ Cheers!

The unique art style was probably my favourite part of this game. Incredibly intriguing design, and effective pacing. Short and sweet! But I would have liked more context for the character's relationships. Excited to see what else you make!

I admire your implementation of using 3D assets in RPG Maker, although it did make the controls a little awkward. I enjoyed your original assets and the creativity on display here! It's clear that a lot  of hard work went into this.

I absolutely adored this from start to finish! Definitely unsettling. The music and sound design used really enhanced the stellar visuals and uncanny vibe. This echoes Jack Stauber and Sodikken. Very impressed, great job.

I enjoyed the deconstruction of the fantasy JRPG genre and the multiple branching paths were interesting! I'm also a big fan of twists in narrative driven games, and I was happy to see that there were several here~ Combat was a little straight forward (aside from when it was used to further the plot) and I wish there were some additional assets used besides the RTP. I would also comb through the dialogue for spelling and grammar errors. Overall, a fun and enjoyable experience!

The aesthetics of this game are so gorgeous! I can't wait to try it out!

A quick update on the release schedule regarding the full game of Pastel Massacre! Our team is still working hard on the project, but due to life and its complications, we won't be releasing the full game this Halloween. However! We DO still have some surprises in store coming in November, so stay tuned! To everyone who has played or enjoyed the game thus far, thank you for your patience and support!

Wish there was a physical copy! Just for the art alone!

Thank you so much for playing our demo! It truly means the world to us. We hope you enjoyed it and we look forward to watching your video! Cheers!

Wow, I really like the 4th wall breaking and player immersion. Very cool and unique! The transition into 3D genuinely surprised me and was disarming (in the best way). There were a few bugs here and there, primarily when interacting with objects- but given the theme of the game, whether it was intentional or a happy accident, they didn't phase me in the least. The only thing I thought left a bit to be desired was the mapping, which occasionally felt a bit too open. But I'm VERY impressed with this entry and the subtle storytelling. Very fun!

Hey! I was super drawn to this game's gorgeous art style and strong atmosphere. The digital eldritch approach was fun and unique! I like the 2D plane exploration a lot! However, I do wish there was a bit more clarity mechanically. I had difficulty with the doors and when I tried to use the flashlight the rest of the game stopped working? Movement with the stairs was a little bit difficult as well (especially when descending). Overall great presentation, but I found it almost impossible to progress. Can't wait to see your work in the future too! Cheers!

Are there any plans for an English release? I absolutely love the sprite work for this and would love to play it in the future!

Thank you so much for playing! It means a lot to us that you took the time to check it out and even write a sweet review of it. It really makes it validating that all the hard work has been paid off. Thank you.
