I've been working on a little Windows program called PackCheck and finally released it today.
The idea came from how stupidly easy it is to miss one file when you're dealing with a folder full of assets.
I tested it on an actual game project I'm working on. I had a folder with 37 animation files, copied it, deleted one frame, and gave the folder to PackCheck without telling it what I removed.
It caught the gap and identified apprentice_attack_03_64 as the missing member of the sequence.
That was pretty much the moment I went, “okay, this might actually be useful” 😂
It also checks for corrupt images/files, exact duplicates, missing counterparts, junk/temp files, suspicious local-machine references, and a few other things that are easy to overlook before packaging something.
Everything runs locally. No uploads, account, subscription, telemetry, or activation.
It's called PackCheck, it's Windows-first, and I released v1.0 today for $19.

If you make asset packs or distribute folders/ZIPs with a bunch of files in them, I'd genuinely be interested in what kinds of packaging mistakes you've run into. That's probably what's going to determine what I work on next.
