I think this is the first tower defense game I've come across for the game jam.

I love the retro art style C:

Pretty cool! Good job!

Super cute! I love your implementation of the theme into your game in both in order to progress and death being a literal opportunity to get where you need to go!

Good Job!

SUPER COOL CONCEPT!

Death truly was an opportunity in this game.

Gameplay is super fun and honestly my only "complaint" is that it's not long enough!

I WANT MORE!!!!! RAHHHH!!!

Good job though C:

Quite the unique game! Honestly I'm surprise I haven't seen more games focused on the whole crows taking advantage of carcasses (though admittedly the thought hasn't crossed my mind until seeing this).

Good job!

I found a house that said "We should get lights out, there could be goblins outside for all we know" and I immediately entered that house. Lights will not deter this goblin. . .

Great teak on the theme! I loved the artwork and sprites, especially the goblin and their little noises. The ambient sound was also super nice to listen to. Plus you have the map and clues, good work on both the coding and art side of things! You guys did great. Amazing work especially in five days.

HOLY MOLY!! UNDERRATED!!!

This has genuine potential to be a full game, the voice acting is AWESOME!!! And the story is so totally there. The reveal at the end was also insanely cool.

AMAZING JOB!!! One of my favorites in this game jam easily!

This is genuinely a bit heartbreaking, but I don't think there is a game attached to your submission. Perhaps I simply don't see it though and if that's the case PLEEAASE tell me. This genuinely looks awesome and I really wish I could play it.

This was our first game jam together but through it I got some of my art friends on the hook for game development! So there is a very real chance you may see more of this in the future....

Thank you so much!!!

Lotus and Lenaly did an INSANE job with the art especially with the short time span they had. They worked super hard on it to the point I was drowning in it.

1 Happy customer is better than no happy customers!!! Glad you liked the game <3

AHH!! Thank you so much! I wish I had more time to implement a tutorial in but I'm so glad you got the hang of things.

Woah...

INSANE job. I love your take on the game jam's theme, you really integrated the theme into your story and it felt natural. Not only is the visuals nice but the sound design pairs very well with the game.

I also really enjoyed the stats you pick at the start because it reminded me of some of my favorite choose your path kind of adventures and story book games.

Well done, I loved it!

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! There was a TON to get done in the time and I sincerely tried my best to get done what I could. I even had it where customers would leave a mess behind but unfortunately I had to cut that as well as some other unfinished content out. I think if I had just one more day I could have polished things up so much better.

This would have been equally impossible if it wasn't for the amazing work of the artist as well!

The deer was ALSO my favorite!!! The animation of it getting up felt so nice!

Art style is super cool, I also love the UI design a ton! I didn't experience any bugs or issues so good job on the coding side of things as well C:

I'm really curious what this project would develop into if you had more time. But for the time you did have and what you've accomplished, GOOD JOB!!!!

I like and am a huge fan of the retro style a ton!

I can definitely see the direction you were heading with this and I think you did a swell job with the time you had!

I would 100% play a more developed version of this game if you had more time, I like the system of your movement dictates theirs so you have to play around with it a bit!

Good job!

Aside from any bugs I think this was super cute! I loved the music and oddly the art style was almost nostalgic for me because I used to play tons of similar looking browser games when I was younger.

I love the concept and take on the theme you have!

Good job!!

Thank you so much!!

The stove minigame drained the life out of me as it was my first time working with 2D so the layering issue was hard, but fun, to solve!

Glad you enjoyed C:

Out of all the puzzle games I've played in this game jam I think this is by far one of my favorites!

The art was super cute as well and the ambient music was quite peaceful to listen to while playing.

Nice job!

The art is SUUUUPER cool! I love the shifting background that moved as you progressed, it felt super majestic to play through.

Good job!!!!!!

Super neat! I think this is the first choose your adventure game I've came across for this game jam!

Solid work!

The art style and gameplay is actually crazy good for the time you guys were given.

Like others have said the gameplay is super smooth and I hadn't encountered any bugs or issues.

Super well done, amazing job!!!

Thank you so much!!!!

The cutscene and flash title card was so adorable! I got a little laugh out of each subtitle popping up!

I really loved everything! The gameplay, puzzles, sound design, and art style are all super nice and mesh really well together.

Super impressive! Amazing work!

The art and UI is super cool and I absolutely adore it! I couldn't quite figure out the hacking unfortunately but I think that could just be a user error.

Regardless good job with the limited time!

Visuals are super cool and the gameplay is super unique! At first I was questioning the control scheme a bit but as I played longer I understood the thought process behind it!

Very cool, good job!

Love the animations! Unique concept for the theme too! Instead of an opportunity for the player its an opportunity for the wildlife around it!

Good job especially with the limited time crunch!

I loooove the art!

The sprites are so cool looking and the background with the shadows is super cinematic!

The concept for the combat is pretty cool and unique too!

Super impressive for only two days of work!

I super enjoyed this game! I love the mechanics, the art style, and the gameplay! Part of me wishes you made a full on dungeon crawler because I think it'd be super cool. I would have loved to see what you would have made up with more additional time.

Good work!!

I super enjoyed the gameplay of this! I loved the exploring for the next entrance down, it kind of sparked a sense of Stardew nostalgic for me for trying to rush to the next path down as resources dwindle.

The animations, atmosphere, art, and ui, are very well done!

You guys did great for only five days!

AHHH, I'm so sorry things were hard to figure out. You aren't the only or first at that!!

I super wished I had more time to make the game more user friendly, but essentially you would go into the basement and process it through the various stations. So flesh through the stove made it seared, running it through the sink after cleaning any dishes made it bloodied, stove gives baked, and pot boiled. It also was unintentionally way too hard to beat...

Thank you for your feedback though and I'm so glad you found the instructions humorous <3

I'm so glad you enjoyed <3

Gameplay is suuper fun

The sound design is also really satisfying, I love the little click clack of the revolver reload and also three bullets felt really nice.

Sprites and design is real nice too!

Good job!!

The change in music when you day in the long walk is sooooo cool.

For not knowing how to code, especially your first game, especially especially since it's only five days... YOU DID AWESOME!!!! GOOD JOB AND I HOPE YOU'RE PROUD OF YOURSELF!!!

Loved the art and sprites, hope you participate in other game dev endeavors  <3

SUPER UNIQUE GAMEPLAY! I love that your time is limited and based off how much you move.

Shaders are reaaallly cool too along with the lighting. Good work!

I super enjoyed the difficulty of this game! The art, music, and sound mesh very well together. Good job!

Super unique art, story is a really fun concept!

My unique comment is I really liked how you had your indicators show up to interact or to scroll up! The animations for those are really nice and gives some clarity when there is uncertainty!

Not sure if it's just a user issue but I had a hard time navigating off the main menu and the controls wouldn't work properly for me.

With that said the art in lining looks so good!

Wish I could have seen the intended experience!!!

Welcome to BORGERS

I love the art, especially the interaction the birb has. So very cute
Sounds and music matches well.

The only death I need is by chicken nuggets...
