Hello , yes this would be a really nice feature in terms of expanding usage cases I think. Your second picture would also be good, maybe this time for an inventory, but in that case the ability to display numbers ( in the bottom right corner as you did )  could serve to show shortcuts to the items for the player.

Edit : From a "coding" perspective ( I'm not a coder, I use Clickteam Fusion which is a no-code app creator ) it would be necessary to have the ability to export the letters separately from the grid ( with the appropriate size based on grid size ) so that letters can be included dynamically in the grid.

One idea I have at the moment is to put letters in these grids, for word games. I hope you won't mind, but as you were mentioning increasing the creativity, I thought why not mention this ?
