Hello , yes this would be a really nice feature in terms of expanding usage cases I think. Your second picture would also be good, maybe this time for an inventory, but in that case the ability to display numbers ( in the bottom right corner as you did ) could serve to show shortcuts to the items for the player.

Edit : From a "coding" perspective ( I'm not a coder, I use Clickteam Fusion which is a no-code app creator ) it would be necessary to have the ability to export the letters separately from the grid ( with the appropriate size based on grid size ) so that letters can be included dynamically in the grid.
It’s coming soon… I originally added the feature for numbers, then I remembered your request and added the ability to use letters instead of numbers. And yes, you can change the position of the numbers in the corner—any corner you want—and there are many customization options. As for having a separate character outside the slot grid, you can instead use one slot with a letter and another one without a letter.
