Build 2 is now available! I’ve updated the post above with new screenshots and details. This build improves fishing, weather, menus and boss battles, with refined optional quests and performance improvements.

Download the free Windows playtest I’d love feedback on fishing, menu clarity and boss attack readability.

Hi! The second playtest build of Bramblevein is now available for Windows.

Build a home above ground. Discover what waits below.

Bramblevein is a 2D mining, crafting and exploration sandbox with a story-driven campaign and five bosses. Build and furnish a home, explore caves, ruins and floating islands, forge equipment, fish, cook, grow crops and meet the settlement’s residents.

This new build brings:

  • A clearer interface and improved menus.
  • Better fishing controls, feedback and fish behavior.
  • Improved weather through daylight, moonlit nights, rain and storms.
  • Refined boss mechanics, attacks and arenas.
  • Improvements to optional quests and activities after the ending.
  • Performance improvements for exploration and combat.

There’s an ending to discover, but your adventure can continue afterward. Keep an eye and ear out—some optional discoveries reward curious players.

The game is still in development, so expect bugs, uneven balance and changes between builds. Play solo or try experimental two-player co-op with a friend using the same build.

Download the free Windows playtest Played with keyboard and mouse.

Thanks for taking a look and giving Bramblevein a try!

Hi, I’m the developer of Bramblevein. This is my first game, and it started with wanting to make something I could build, explore and play with my son. I’m opening it up for a free public playtest while I keep working on it.

If you give it a try, I’d like to hear how it goes. Feel free to leave any feedback here.

For bugs, please start a separate topic with what happened and any steps to reproduce it. Include your build number if you can.

I really appreciate you taking the time to play, and I hope you enjoy it!
