Thanks for the comment! There are two separate ambient tracks, and I added a gap between the two of them so there wasn’t an abrupt change. Maybe I should have made them fade out and in instead. But a good point nonetheless!

Oh my god. That was amazing. I’m a big Outer Wilds fan, and this is exactly the game I love. The music is amazing, and the art is very smooth and clean. The shovel and the crystals were super cool tools to learn, and the platforming was good. I did get softlocked once, but outside of that, this game is perfect. I just wish it was longer :)
Not affiliated with the jam staff, but I would warn about using dithering. Our team used it a couple of years ago, and some people rated our game low on the “Is it 1-bit” metric, even though it was technically 1-bit. It depends on what dithering algorithm you’re using, but just make sure that it’s clear that it’s only two real colors.
Backspace to automatically go back a menu is a great idea that I hadn't considered! I definitely need a way to improve the readouts. I'm thinking of cutting out a lot of information. For example, an enemy attack may be as short as "Goblin attacked Player. Dealt 5 slashing damage. Applied Stun." But I'll do more testing to find a good balance between detail and brevity.
I appreciate this game so much because I tried to use the exact same shader code, but update it for Godot v4.1, and I could not figure out how to fix it. The atmosphere is great, love the music, but I was constantly glitching into objects and through platforms. Other than that, I enjoyed it! I'd also appreciate it if you could try out my game, A Shadow's Quest.
