Kev is popular isn't he? Thank you for playing!!

Thank you so much for playing!! (I hope it inspires you to finish your project omg.)

I definitely want to come back and rehaul a lot of the assets of this game without the time constraint of a game jam! Perfecting UI design is on my radar of skills I want to learn this year!

It's really cool to see that you've expanded on the jam prototype!

The aesthetic of the environment is very cool!

Hello! I'm the current editor of Knee Deep! I'm very much a real human :)

I'm sorry that was your interpretation of the story and characters. Please note that while I do not consider any of the characters in my story inherently bad people, I also do not consider your criticism or interpretation invalid in any way.

I made Ayla go from dating a woman to dating a man because that reflected the biphobia I personally saw on my own social media. I felt like if I had her go from dating a man to dating a woman, the discrimination she encounters would be homophobia and not specifically biphobia. (It could definitely be my lack of skill as a writer that I cannot come up with a way to make it about biphobia if it was this order!)

I talk a bit more about this here, if you scroll to Writing.

As for the interpretation that all the lesbians in Community Notes are bad people—I'd like to clarify that so far in the demo, the only character whose sexuality is confirmed to be a lesbian is Romy.

I'll be part of a team for an otome game that is a 3D pixel RPG soon! Not in RPG Maker, but a very similar aesthetic!

She's super popular which surprised me! I'm happy she was able to capture the hearts of so many people!

Thank you for playing!

Realising how hard a game with "just pictures and text" is to develop is a rite of passage for VN devs lol. It made me appreciate all video games so much more.

I'm so glad I found your post in September! 🩷 Your post stood out to me because I could sense the passion you had for the game - then I played the demo that was out at the time and it confirmed my instinct was correct.

I can't wait for what's to come in the Bloom spin-off!

It's good to hear this confirmed by someone else! While I was in the research phase of game dev, I was trying to find media that tackled biphobia to use as reference and came up very empty.

Thank you! I think it made a world of a difference in vibe!

Jae the guy I'd go for in real life!

My next game has a love interest in his 40s, so that day might come very soon...

Aww thank you!! You're so sweet!! Here's a virtual hug back!

I'm obsessed with this visual novel and have been playing Keisuke's route during company time. I couldn't put it down, and played what has been released pretty much in two sittings (only because I played it till 3am and passed out from exhaustion).

Overnight, Zach/Zoey became my favourite gender-bender protagonist. I didn't expect this of a game I downloaded just for gender-bend NSFW. Zach/Zoey's intelligence was conveyed very well in both his dialogue and inner monologue (I was playing with high Emotionality and Self-Esteem).

I'm a sucker for childhood friend to FWB routes and Keisuke's route hit all the right notes for me, especially during the dialogues about their past. He is an equally well-written character and the chemistry between him and Zach/Zoey was great. I'm rooting for them!

Other things I liked: The personality sliders genuinely affected the writing and it's the first time I've seen this done well. The H-scenes were really hot. I can probably cover up the character names and I'd still be able to tell who is talking. The dev's charisma passion for this project really coming through in the dev notes (I ended up reading so many of your devlogs afterward). The nerdiness of everyone. How wise some of the dialogue is.

I am so curious about what it will be like playing with other settings so I will do the GL routes soon.

This was a really fun demo, definitely like playing a fantasy manwha!! I need to find out more about Lucian stat as charming and cunning is my favourite combo of prince characters.

Amelia is also super cute. I'm a huge fan of the trope where you get to babysit or raise a child together. Aaaah!

Thank you for playing so many of my games and sticking around!

I wish there were more players like you who understand that most games on Itch are labours of love, made available for free or a low price for people to experience. I believe 99% of games published here represent the dev's best effort, and never go out of my way to leave something negative on someone else's page no matter how bad I personally perceive it to be.

Lots of love to you!

Ugh, I'm so sorry this happened to you too. It is so abundantly clear that Kamakura Bloom will be enjoyed by people who play otome games if they gave it a chance. I can't wait for it! The art style and characters are so clearly shoujo-inspired, and it's sad that people think having other relationships in the same story means it's suddenly not Maiden enough!

The concept of romancing the Narrator was incredibly intriguing to me. I thought I wouldn’t like Julian but he grew on me too! It was really cool to redo the scenes in a New Game+ playthrough. The music, especially during the angsty moments, made me feel emotional.

One of my favourite otome games from the Amare Games Jam! I cannot believe there is a warning in the beginning about it being unpolished. I didn’t feel that at all! Huge kudos to Team Peebles for making such an amazing product in the short timeframe!

Hi Yoko!! Thank you so much for playing!! I’m glad you like Kev. I had a lot of fun writing him!

Thank you so much! I tried hard to make each character’s voice distinct!

(What an honour to hear from you!! I’m a huge fan of your Year of Springs series!)

Agree with everything you said! I really wanted to make an otome game where the protagonist is explicitly bisexual. Even in games where you can date multiple genders, it is rare to see the character canonically be established as bi/pan.

I really wanted to find stories that tackle themes of biphobia and bi-erasure and it was a struggle to find these types of stories. So I had to make it myself!

Psst, I also wrote for Bloom where the FMC Astra is canonically established as someone who can date any gender (in Qwynn’s route, which unlocks after playing one of the other routes)! I hope you check it out!

Thank you so much for playing and your kind words!!

The game is (unfortunately) inspired by a lot of the biphobic messaging I’ve seen on social media. It seems to disproportionately affect people who are simply trying to live their lives, doesn’t it?

I hope you stick around for the next update! I shall aim to please!

It really sucks doesn't it. At least I'm not the only one who noticed this (unfortunately). Too many people forgetting that LGBTQIA is more than the first two letters... and that you can be multiple... scary!!

Good luck on your semester! I know you're working hard!

Thank you for talking so fondly about this game! It's such pleasure to read your comments!

I agree, it has gotten worse, probably both attributed to the political pendulum swing and rise of bigotry wrapped up in progressive language... too many people out there looking for anyone and anything to punch down on because their own lives suck!

I hope to continue to make games that fight back!

Since this game is not complete and I could modify the existing content, I'm not going to onboard translators at this time. On top of this, this game is solo-developed, and I don't want to create a version of this game that I may not be able to maintain in the long run, or keep you on the project indefinitely.

Thank you for reaching out!

It's short, but still really sweet and good! I loved this fluffy release!

Made in under 24 hours is insane! I'm gonna need to read the postmortem on this 😂

Thank you so much for playing! I shall not disappoint you!

I finally played and finished this demo!

I read a ton of TL so the trope of a woman transmigrating into a BL game is one familiar to me, but this is one of the only iterations of the trope I've seen where the characters from the BL setting are explicitly established as bisexual. Explicit bisexual representation in otome games is always nice to see! And I read in one of your devlogs (yes I went through many of them) where you unequivocally announce that playing as a female character does not make the male LIs heterosexual - good on you for saying that! 🙂‍↕️

I thought I'd like Elijah the most, as he's physically my type, but my favourite ended up being Noah, since I have a thing for arrogant men (LOL).

I wish I played earlier when I learnt that one of my favourite otome games, The Second Reproduction, inspired this game. At the end, I can definitely see the resemblance haha.

May I ask what line or scene prompted this comment? I checked my script and I don't describe any relationship as heterosexual, bisexual or otherwise and it's not how I would phrase it in my writing.

Thank you for playing!

Wahh, thank you for streaming it!! Your video got stuck in pending comments, sorry for the late reply!!

Ayy, congrats! 😁

Agreed. 💯

I used this for my otome game! Thank you for making this!

I used this for my otome game! Thank you for making this!

I am extremely impressed with the worldbuilding of this game! I loved the cyberpunk post apocalyptic-seque setting and how it was used in the plot. A fantastic otome game!

Hehehe, #ChirperQueue will get more interesting later on!

I'm glad you like Cheri! Her route is shaping up to be the more dramatic of the two...

Thank you for playing and your kind words!

Thank you for your kind words!!

I'm glad I was able to induce that feeling hehehe. Thank you for playing so early!!

Thank you so much for playing! <3

Thank you so much for playing! I'm happy you enjoyed it! I'm bi myself and I completely agree with you (unfortunately).

Azure you've done it again! This is my favourite game jam entry from you out of all the ones I've played!!

I'm impressed with the worldbuilding! It reminded me of being in a fantasy light novel or RPG. I'm charmed!

Mika is a hilarious protagonist. Her dialogue and inner monologue is pure gold, and the highlight of the game for me.
