It's okay, it definitely would have made the honorable mention if it was done, but I get it. That's how it goes with game jams!

Thank you for all of those who participated and submitted. I know life happens and sometimes we either lose motivation or lose time to work on our games for the jam (I am one of those). Game jams for Valthorne will be hosted quarterly, so that means June, September, and December will be months hosted for Valthorne game jams and all with different themes.

  • 1st Place - Noah's Ark
    • Cool voice reading at the beginning and sound effects are awesome. It's fun rushing to do the tasks required of you and has some interestingly advanced graphics for a game jam game. The tasks required were easy to understand and the pressure to complete them made it fun.
  • 2nd Place - Legend of David
    • Love the music and sound effects. AI generated art looks cool. I know sometimes it's hard to use AI with art on some situations, but it's nice.  Autobattler system is simple and easily understandable. I don't know if I'm just terrible but I kept losing quick!
  • 3rd Place - The Great Flood
    • Pairing games are always fun, pressure came quickly the closer the water got to the edge of the screen. Very nice music. Highest score I got so far was 385!

I actually really liked Blessed Strike and I think is the perfect game example for what to publish for a game jam for its simplicity, but compared to the others, it was a difficult choice. So, it's my honorable mention!

David's Ascent was made by a co-worker and we didn't think it would be fair to give the money to Nick Taub as he stated that he would rather the money go to a different submission in the game jam. David's Ascent was actually the coolest in terms of being a vampire-survivor bullet haven type.

Confessional (The submission, not the action) is not biblical. We are to confess our sins, but Catholicism is not biblical and never will be considering the practices within their faith, but specifically what was in the game. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness - 1 John 1:9. Also, confession is not limited to a priest within a booth -James 5:16 Confess your sins to one another and pray for one another.

Hey, this was pretty cool. I can't seem to purchase the shoes though!

This game was done by Nick Taub, not me. It's a vampire survivor's like game.

I get it!

Will there be a download at the end of the jam?

Click on the GitHub link to Valthorne and there is a discord link there. It's quite a small server but would rather you join there in case you need help or so I can grow the community.

I encourage the use of AI. I have yet to see anything presentable when it comes to pixel art and AI though, but if you can do it, then go for it!

For any early submissions, I will just assume they are going to be in development until the end of the Jam. At the end of the Jam, if no progress has been made on the early submissions, they will be disqualified and will not count towards the submission number.

Excited to see how it turns out

Thank you!

This is really cool

If anyone would like help or assistance or just a tutorial on how to do something with Valthorne because they think the Wiki does not provide enough information, then I will gladly help! I will even get on a discord call with you if I have to.

WOOOOHOOOOOO

I'll pay for bullets too. Do you think you could add a pack that adds modifiers to the bases like turrets or something similar for extra defenses?
Also, I'm a game developer if you wanna make a game together.

can you make an arrow for him?

Hello everyone! I've hit up a few of these posts on this topic already, but I'm gonna create a new one instead.

I'm looking for a 2D pixel artist for a rather large game idea, and I'm also willing to develop a game of yours. I'm a very dedicated and disciplined person, so the project would go to until it's finished. This would be a revenue share project and we would split proceeds based on what we both agree on. I'm actually rather giving and I'm mostly in for the love of game development and a desire to have people play a game I've created.

If you're interested, just send a reply to this topic :D

Hey, do you do pixel art? I've been a developer for over 10 years and I'm willing to create a game if you like pixel art!

I LOVE YOUR STUFF! Do you think you'll be working on a dedicated UI pack for the topdown tileset any time soon?

Kind regards,
A big fan!

I have a quadro rtx 5000. Maybe compatibility issue

Just shows a black screen

I hate you for this

I am not one to decipher things, but the second poem is a dead giveaway. The first and last ones are confusing. Do the pictures have anything to do with the answer? Also, are each of the passwords only one word for each zip file?
