Buffs:

  • Simple and addictive gameloop
  • Fun color pallet and aesthetics
  •  Rewarding progression curve, the experience and upgrades improve at a nice pace with the games objective increase and terrain difficulty

Polish:

  • The blade upgrade breaks the game eventually from clipping, super funny though
  • Sound could be lower for upgrades
  • had to restart due to some clipping or collision when spawning on levels

Those are indeed some mean bees. Also I'm not sure how deep the lore goes, they seem to be mind controlled. Maybe Slime, Inc. 2 has the slimes break the bees free and they work together.

Buffs

  • The anti-design for UI is fun, reminds me of Nubby's Number Generator
  • Fun and simple game once I understood what was going on
  • The music was ambient and I think one of the tracks was a little LCD Soundsytem inspired? I dug it!

Polish:

  • The game could use clear instructions
  • The factory screen bugged out a few times and wouldn't show upgrades on the web browser
  • I assumed the Snaking Slimes was the entry level and with the lack of understanding of upgrades I died 5 times in a row on round 9 after getting a general grasp for the game
  • I think there could be a max amount of goo the slimes eat as it might end up only benefiting the first slime then the other slimes are left helpless.
DEBUFF

I'm a fan of bees >:(

Buffs:

  • Loved the enemies coming at me and constant action
  • Understood the game quick
  • Objective Indicators for the gems were nice!
  • The music was ambient and I think one of the tracks was a little LCD Soundsytem inspired? I dug it!

Polish:

  • Other gun models would be good so I know what I'm using
  • The bug splashes could remove a little faster, in the first few tight levels, I'd kill the bug and then wait, it kills the momentum while playing
  • As others have mentioned the machine gun could be slowed a bit and the sound could be cut up a little bit as well

I appreciate the feedback! The game loop is incomplete at the moment and wasn't fully playtested. The lich was suppose to be a boss character at the end of level 2 with far more health than the regular enemies which leads to a punishing level. We're looking to smooth that out for the next build!

Unfortunately Unreal 5 doesn't support WebGL as they dropped it midway through Unreal 4.

I finally feel like I'm forklift certified.

(1 edit)

Sorry boss, I was compulsed to make a mess.

Buffs:

  • A prime example of a jam game staying with scope, this had it all, animation, styilization, game
  • Fun intro and outro the
  • Objective Indicators for the gems were nice!
  • Love the consistent bone theme

Polish:

  • I'd love to see how this could get turned into more levels, the boss running trying to settle you down while you cause mayhem would be a blast
  • Powers ups, a speed one would probably be the top one that comes to mind
  • Item destruction would be a fun addition and is pretty achievable in Unreal
