Thanks for the feedback!
I'm working on a V2 right now which addresses some of those issues and I plan to add a tutorial stage to the game as well.
Thanks for giving it a go! There are some instructions in the main menu and also on screen but I understand it's not the most player friendly experience.
Cheers,
Tom
Well done on this Daragrad! The overall quality of the game is good.
The wall jump/rebound as a core mechanic is quite difficult... it does remind me of celeste... but with Celeste you can hold on to the edge to jump off it - as I recall. And perhaps some kind of visual signifier would help with your game to indicate when a wall jump is possible?
I wonder as well how to make it more original... what could set it apart from games like Celeste?
The levels are designed well and aesthetic is good :)
Hey I enjoyed the game!
I've always liked to play SimCity or top down strategy games but I confess I've actually always been terrible at playing them! So never really understood why my cities always fail haha. Including unfortunately my pit stop town was getting heavily into loss'. Perhaps I could have got out a loan? (another game mechanic?)
Lots a cool things - I like the general vibe with the music and the building system. It was well implemented and dynamic.
I felt like I was starting to learn that the best strategy was leading the cars on random routes to maximize their time exposed to billboards and the business' was optimal? Is that the right kind of approach to it?
When I got a casino I was expecting to make a lot of profit however when I didn't and soon was having minus profits for a couple of weeks and then the hurricane hit - that was the end of my play session this time aha.
I think maybe some information about profits per each billboard/business would add an extra layer. And I thought some imagery/artworks during the profit sequence would spice things up.... characters that pass through... maybe like pulling Chance monopoly cards with some cartoons/or 3d characters displayed.
Also with the mitigating circumstances like the extra tax etc... Maybe a symbol on screen which would remind you of that when it was in place...
I also think the bin symbol could maybe be replaced by a bulldozer?
Some other notes;
- There was a typo on advertising frenzy tip
- I repeatedly got the error saying “Attempted to build outside of playable area… use grid mode for assistance”. This happened when I hit done... so it was like the code was not clearing or something before hitting done? Don't know if that makes sense
Just some ideas for you - overall I was getting quite into it and enjoyed!
Cheers,
Tom
Hey ChefPancake,
Thankyou for your feedback!
Really glad you enjoyed the game.
I'm consistently getting this feedback about issues of visibility due to the obstacles and camera position. I have received some good suggestions on how to improve on this and have some ideas of my own. I will work on this and upload an updated version as soon as I'm allowed to!
I wanted the difficulty to be ramped up in the finale but it definetely needs some work to be a better experience for the player.
Thankyou!

Hey Daragard
Really glad you enjoyed the game! Thankyou so much for the thoughtful feedback.
There's some great solutions in your feedback and I agree this is an issue that needs to be worked on... The suggestion of arrows - perhaps via a compass like UI? Could be a helpful indicator... Also the shader graph idea - maybe a subtle indicator could work well...
Thinking of this I'm also thinking the maze / general level design needs to be worked on... some gaps in the rocks on those problem areas would mean as the waves go up and down you would be able to see the orientation of your boat.
Additionally yes - I think I know what you are talking about with the mouse input. I'm not certain of the issue at present but I have noticed that 'clicking' on the screen can help to reset the calculations of the 'virtual cursor'. Also coming out of full screen mode can cause the calcuations to go awry. I intended for the cursor to be 'locked' in the center of the visual space and for it's position to be 'virtual' so that these kind of issues wouldn't happen but I will take a closer look at the script and see if I can ensure for a more consistent sailing experience!
Hope you came back for further sailing and saved more souls!
Cheers,
Tom
Thankyou Valengo :) Glad you enjoyed it!
I pulled some all nighters to see this to it's current state of completion but intend to improve and expand upon it.
I am getting some reoccuring feedback about the visibility issues - which I totally understand. I''ve received some good feedback with some proposed solutions... I am also thinking of rearranging the maze so there are more gaps in the rocks. So you aren't sailing blind so often...
Keep eyes peeled for more mysters from Nom Kabar 😁
