Hi everyone!

I’m really excited (and honestly a little emotional) to bring Veils of the Past to itch.io. This isn’t a small update. It’s a full demo relaunch, rebuilt from the ground up to better capture the atmosphere and emotions of the final game.

Quick summary

Veils of the Past is a mature mystery visual novel with strong atmosphere and romance. You play as Alex, a haunted investigator pulled into the disappearance of Chloe, a case that begins to echo the unresolved loss of his sister, Emily. Your choices don’t just change scenes. They shape relationships, shift trust, and can steer the story toward very different truths.

What’s new in this demo

  • Reworked visuals and scenes for stronger mood and cleaner pacing

  • A new demo ending that hits closer to the core mystery

  • Updated music and sound design
🎧 Best experienced with headphones. A lot of the tension lives in the quiet moments.

  • Rewritten language versions across the board (not just tweaks). Every supported language has been revised and re-crafted to read naturally.

  • Now available in: English, French, Russian, Brazilian Portuguese, Latin American Spanish, Traditional Chinese, and Turkish

🖤 A note on the “Mature” label
I’ve reclassified the project from Adult to Mature. Romance is still a pillar, but the heart of the story is mystery, atmosphere, and psychological tension. The full game won’t be explicit, but it will be intense, both narratively and emotionally.
