Finally got to play this one!

It's adorable! Very cute and charming, with such a strong fairy-tale vibe to it. And I just kept thinking 'Yes, this feels like something Butter would make' while I was playing. In a good way! The art is so pretty and magical, and all the special transitions and sparkly effects add so much to the atmosphere, too. ๐Ÿ‘Œ

And the characters! Brielle really is the ultimate fangirl lol. ๐ŸคญThe little sequences where she admires Julian are pretty funny, but I think that makes her character very disarming and sweet. I also liked that pretty boy Julian is a bit self-centered and has a little scheming side to him (very curious what he's up to and what happened between him and his brother ๐Ÿค”).

Oh, and I loved the idea with the seed! I hope we get to see more cool magic in the full release. ^^

dsladkalkdsakl Thank you so much for playing and for the sweet comment! I'm very flattered and very happy that you enjoyed it! ๐Ÿฅฐ

Yes, in the options menu! Hope this helps! ^^

(i feel like i shouldn't say any more because it's best if you just play it lol)

But TBH, I'm happy it's not that easy to predict! It's more exciting this way ๐Ÿคญ๐Ÿ’•

Hello, thank you so much for playing! I'm happy you liked it ๐Ÿ’•

I agree that the situation is good for no one and it just hurts everyone involved. Kyลซ especially is in a really tight spot, stuck between respecting his partner's wishes and caring for the kid he loves despite everything (and who looks up to him so much). But at the same time, he's also in the perfect position to try bringing them closer so they can maybe be a family??? ๐Ÿฅฒ

Also, just a side note: this is more of an AU to the main game, with a different story and setting, but it will be getting a separate big game sometime in the future so I hope that's something to look forward to if you're interested. ^^

fklkfdlksl So many interesting theories! ๐Ÿคญ I wouldn't consider this story a spoiler (you'll see how things play out in the main game), but if it is, it's probably not the way you think. ^^

(this scene happens after ending #4 in Quaint and it's an alternate timeline where the Organization doesn't exist) (side note, i loved designing the Untraumatized Q (TM) lol)

Also, yes, the game shows T the way he'd be as an adult - a bit more mature and free of internal homophobia. (though, as you noticed, still selfish in some regards - he's still T after all kslkfsfsl) (and also: there's no 'right' ending here, both are canon ^^)

And thank you for the sweet words, your comments made my day ๐Ÿซ ๐Ÿ’•

kfklsfls;dksl;kf thank you so much for the wonderful review, i'm FLOORED with how deep you went with your analysis (pretty much spot on about everything, too) ๐Ÿฅบ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’•

(Just for the record, this game happens between the fourth and fifth flashback.)

[MORE SPOILERS]

Just like you said, the story in Quaint is shown from Q's point of view, so you can only see the front T puts on to hide his real feelings. And to be fair, I first wrote their relationship to be a little toxic and manipulative as a sort of counter-balance to Q's relationship with Milo.

But while working on the game i started exploring T's character a little bit more and that made me wonder why he'd treat Q like that. (i didn't like the idea that he was just cruel for the sake of it) And by the time part two of Quaint came out, the image of T in the game and the T in my head were very, VERY different lol. ๐Ÿ˜… So with this game, I wanted to show the situation from T's perspective to maybe give his character a little more nuance. (though whether or not that justifies his actions, i'll leave to the player's judgment ^^)

Thank you again for playing, I'm delighted that you enjoyed it ๐Ÿฅฐ

Awww, im delighted to hear that! ๐Ÿคญ๐Ÿ’• (there's no higher praise than 'how dare you' in my book kslfdskfls) That particular ending is definitely one of my favorites despite the emotional damage it does lol. ๐Ÿ˜‡

Thank you again for playing and for the wonderful feedback! I appreciate it very much. ๐Ÿฅฐ

Hi, thank you so much for the wonderful words! My heart feels very full right now. ๐Ÿฅฐ

I'll be the first to admit that the story starts slow and that might not be everyone's cup of tea. But I'm all the more tickled that you gave it a chance AND found it enjoyable in the end. I appreciate it very much. ๐Ÿ’•

Thank you again, I hope the other endings do not disappoint! ๐Ÿ˜‡

(1 edit)

dsflsdjlfs i'm so incredibly flattered and touched ๐Ÿ˜ญ thank you for all the sweet words, it really means a lot ๐Ÿฅบ๐Ÿ’•

i'm delighted you took the time to play through everything, T Break included! (that scene with just T is actually one of the easter eggs, so good job on finding it ^^) i definitely want to make more games (some more Quaint-adjacent, some less) so i hope that's something to look forward to โœจ

klfsdjlssfdls Thank you so much for playing! Your comment really brightened my day ๐Ÿฅฐ

Honestly, I don't think it's bad at all if you prefer T! He does have a very special relationship with Q and I find myself going back and forth between him and Milo all the time, haha. ๐Ÿ˜… That's why I felt like they deserved to have a happy ending, too. (once T gets his stuff together, of course…)

Anyway, thank you again! This means a lot! ๐Ÿฅบ๐Ÿ’•

Quaint comments ยท Replied to Luea in Quaint comments

Aww, this is all so sweet, thank you so much ๐Ÿฅฐ

I'm happy you enjoyed the ending! I wanted to wrap things up in a satisfying way but still leave hints about how things may unfold in the future for the Society and the characters. I also wanted to make sure each ending would add a bit more to the big picture so I'd definitely encourage you to get the others if you have the time. ๐Ÿ˜‡

And thank you again for reporting the bugs! Everything should be fixed now. ๐Ÿ˜…

Awhh, I might've teared up a little. Thank you! I'm happy the story resonated with you. Comments like yours make all that effort worth it. ๐Ÿฅบ๐Ÿ’•

Thank YOU for playing! I'm happy you liked it ^^

Ahhhh, you wouldn't happen to remember what the bugs were? You can send me an email at hirorckx@gmail.com if you find a moment. ๐Ÿ˜… (along with the plot concerns if you want) (also, there should be no more CGs in the S ending? if you mean the last two frames, they're supposed to be empty)

ohhh im impressed you got to the S, it's not very straightforward ^^

what was your favorite ending overall?

ahahah the emojis ๐Ÿ˜‚ perfect ๐Ÿ‘Œ

Awwww, that's such a sweet comment, I couldn't dream of a better review ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ’•
Thank you so much for sticking around throughout this journey, it wouldn't be the same without you ๐Ÿคง๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿ’•

Thank you, Potato! Of course, take your time! I hope you enjoy it ๐Ÿ’•

What a game! It's absurd, it's chaotic, it's a ton of fun?? ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

I load up the game and the main menu theme sounds like Obon music??? WHAT

The expressions? Fantastic! You did such a great job exaggerating them, I especially loved Yanette's sly grin and the horny face with the tongue. ๐Ÿคญ๐Ÿ’•

And the humor! The meta jokes and guest appearances gave me a good chuckle. I was so happy to see Kawaii-chan again (what about little hams tho) (also, why is amanda a goose????? ;A; )

I honestly had such a great time with it! I think I missed a few endings but my favorite was probably #5, it was unexpectedly wholesome???? lol

That was very good!

I was immediately pulled into the world and kept wanting to know what would happen next. The art, writing, and storytelling are all *chef's kiss*. And I loved the premise of the game! It was a unique concept to explore Aster's feelings toward Cyrus, his past, and his relationships with the other characters. I think you executed it all really well. ๐Ÿ˜Š

The only thing I would've liked to see would be a feel-good epilogue scene after a bit of a time skip because the ending felt a bit abrupt. But other than that, it was an excellent story and I enjoyed it a lot. ๐Ÿ‘Œ

(1 edit)

That's what I like to hear, haha ^^ (it's probably a lot to play in one go)

Aghghgh, that's fine! No need to be ashamed, I'm happy you found a moment to play now and I'd love to hear what you think ^^ (I'm sorry you got hit with that right off the bat tho, I hope it doesn't ruin the game for you ๐Ÿ˜…)

This was really good!

The atmosphere, the suspense, the horror of marrying someone you barely know! Kept me at the edge of my seat from start to finish. I also loved the storybook-style illustrations (the folds in the clothing! im swoon) and the overall stylization. I think you nailed the fairytale vibe with this, very nice job. ^^

SOON ๐Ÿ˜‡๐Ÿคญ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿฅณ๐Ÿ’•

I'm happy you're still looking forward to the game ^^

awwww thank you, Kona! I hope it's worth the wait ๐Ÿฅบ๐Ÿ’•

This was so sweet and endearing!

I love the soft Prince with no self-confidence and the way he gains the determination to fight for Annelise. And I love how Annelise appreciates the Prince for what he is, even though he's not what she expected. ๐Ÿ’•

I think you nailed the fairytale vibe with this, with how it looks, how they talk about love, and how you describe the scene.

Lovely little game. ๐Ÿคง๐Ÿ’•

kkfsldkf;sd; what a wonderful comment, thank you so much for taking the time to write all of this, I'm so happy you enjoyed the story and found the characters relatable. ๐Ÿฅบ๐Ÿ’• I've put a lot of my own experiences into the game so it always means a lot when they resonate with players. ^^

I'm glad you liked the animations! I'll admit I dropped the narration because I wasn't confident I could write it well and I've always felt a little self-conscious about it. ๐Ÿ˜… So it warms my heart that you considered the lack of it something positive. ^^ It did force me to show all relevant actions and items on the screen (and it's a lot more work to draw and program all the additional assets) but I do like this format and I think it works well for the setting (with all the floating items and brooms and stuff).

Ah yes, the trap! ๐Ÿคญ I always love reading about people's reactions when they first experience the twist lol. The best thing about Part One (IMO) is there are a lot of things that can be read differently based on how much you know about the plot. (so if you played it again, you could see some lines or even scenes in a completely different light) It was both a treat and a challenge to write, and I was constantly worried about slipping in too much info. ๐Ÿ˜…

Anyway! Thank you again for playing and for the sweet words, I can't express how happy it made me. ๐Ÿฅบ๐Ÿ’• (and I hope you'll enjoy Part Three, too)

A treat of a game, perfect for the season. โ„

The micro-managing aspect is very cool, and with great replay value, too! There are so many things you just physically can't discover on a single playthrough. I also really love how the fairytale element has been incorporated into the game, starting with the stylized storytelling and ending with the shoe thing. (what a clever idea ๐Ÿคญ)

But! for me, the true highlight is the conversations. They're fun and relatable, with lots of little nods to OW and great humor (even the end credits gave me a good chuckle). The three routes (and endings) are all different in their own ways so it's hard for me to pick a favorite. ๐Ÿซ ๐Ÿ’• You need to play each. For flavor. (side note, i literally gasped when i saw the New Year's scene for the first time ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ’• they're all so sweet and cozy ๐Ÿฅฐ)

The art is just adorable! The sheer number of different poses Iggy has is a treat in itself. (my personal favorite is the blanket-cocoon, i can't get over how cute it is ๐Ÿฅฐ) And a special mention to the room background, you've outdone yourself with all the little details and gaming references. But honestly, it's all lovely! And Iggy is so cute! ๐Ÿ’•

Overall, had a great time playing! It's such a fun and magical little game. ๐Ÿ‘Œ

The names you're supposed to put in are written in green in the dialogue. ^^
Which conversation are you stuck on? The very first one? (82 is looking for someone, that's who you're supposed to put in)

Whoa, this one packed a PUNCH!

Hats off to the VA, the way they sold the ANGER, i was DELIGHTED ๐Ÿคญ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’•

I loved the clash between Hippolytus's self-image as this virtuous, love-loathing person and the reality of being confessed to by his stepmother, and how it shattered his pride (but on the other hand, how virtuous of him to seek fault in himself, first!) (i also liked the clash of his cute appearance and the violent emotions hhhhhhh)

You've got a knack for tragedy, Chim, i liked this a lot. ๐Ÿ‘Œ

I'm a bit late to the party, but congrats on the release, Pri! ๐Ÿฅณ

The writing was great and I enjoyed the unveiling mystery. The pacing felt just right! Just enough to keep you hooked but not so fast the story would feel rushed. ๐Ÿ‘Œ

The art is just beautiful, with lovely sprites and backgrounds, and yummy-looking dishes (those pancakes, ahhh ๐Ÿคค). I also loved the voice acting in the more intense scenes, I think the VA did a really good job getting into the character!

I got the sweet ending at first but the twisted one was my favorite overall. It was somehow very touching to see Aspen and Crowe join their efforts like that. So, good for them! ๐Ÿ’•

That was very sweet, I think you did a great job depicting young love and what it feels like to be absolutely smitten with your partner (which makes the ending extra ominous) (i also remember your posts about the premise of this game so it felt like a punch in the gut after all the love confessions ๐Ÿฅฒ). And though it seems a little idealistic to me (being in a long-term relationship will do that to you lol), I enjoyed the game for the message about acceptance and respecting your partner's boundaries. It's a cute wholesome romance, just as you promised. ๐Ÿ’•

And kudos for the artwork! I liked the pretty colors and the star theme of the art and GUI. ๐Ÿ‘Œ (btw, and I mean it in the most endearing way possible, Arcturus's bangs look like a chocolate churro to me and I can't unsee it ๐Ÿ˜†)

Felt so many things about this. ๐Ÿซ  I liked the way you tackled all the issues around conforming to family expectations, fitting a certain image, and everything that's engrained in us just from being raised a certain way (which makes it hard to overcome without some external push). I really feel for Blythe, the lines about looking in the mirror and loathing their reflection broke my heart. ๐Ÿ˜ข (and I absolutely understand why they'd go so far to change things)

But heartbreak aside, I enjoyed the read! The writing and world-building are great (though I guess these are kinda your trademarks at this point ^^), and props for adding the little lore pop-ups, I found them very helpful. ๐Ÿ‘Œ Oh, and I feel like the warm color palette really added to the mood, it felt fitting for a late-night heart-to-heart about family secrets. ๐Ÿคญ

The ending was very heartwarming and felt satisfying after the whole conversation, and I'm curious to see what the future has in store for these two. ^^ (even though it's probably nothing good, haha)

Aw, thank you so much for playing ๐Ÿฅฐ

I'm planning to expand it into a full game in the future! (it's currently at the planning/researching stage of development as I'm finishing my main game) I posted a devlog about it some time ago if you're interested. ^^

Thank you so much for playing and for the kind words ๐Ÿฅบ๐Ÿ’• (you could've told me about the save, i'd have sent you a file to load ๐Ÿ˜…)

Aww, I'm happy to see some Iris appreciation ๐Ÿฅฐ
I had a lot of fun writing her bickering with Milo and some of her lines still crack me up every time. And the thing about Iris is, yes, she's mean but she also usually has a point.  (and yes, she'll be back with more mean comments and some backstory) (though how much will depend on your school choice ๐Ÿค”) (also, good eye, that's all I'm going to say ๐Ÿ˜)

I'm happy you liked the bad endings! There'll be more (and worse ๐Ÿ’•) ^^
I feel like the bad choices shape the story just as much as the good ones and they help you see a broader picture. I know most people don't want to see the bad endings for various reasons, but I love mine very much ๐Ÿซ   (and I recommend getting at least a few to get a taste of what could've been ^^)

Wow, these are some THEORIES, i love them ๐Ÿคญ๐Ÿ’•
I can't confirm nor deny if you're right or not, everything will be resolved in Part Three ^^ (hopefully, in a satisfying way)
I will say though, that Reed calling Q 'son' has more to do with their positions than anything else (I think it's not uncommon for superiors to use it with their subordinates to shorten the gap or seem more compassionate).

Thank you again for taking the time to play and write this up, I'm happy you liked it ๐Ÿฅฐ
(also, could you put a spoiler warning on the comment? just in case someone wants to take a peek before playing ๐Ÿ˜…)

[I'll try to be vague but there might be spoilers so just a heads-up]

Happy release anniversary! ๐Ÿฅณ๐Ÿฅณ๐Ÿฅณ

Man, I loved this game. There was just something about the setting and the mystery of it all that made it super intriguing, and I just ate it up ๐Ÿซ

The characters were all very charming and the idea of having tea time with everyone was so cute! (I adored the teddy bear scene with Sasha ๐Ÿ’•) Overall, Zakhari was my favorite, even more so after I finished playing. ๐Ÿซ ๐Ÿ’•

I loved following the clues and solving the mystery bit by bit. I also love a tragic love story and this one was great! I pieced it together about halfway in, but that didn't take away from the conclusion. ๐Ÿคญ There were just enough clues and they weren't very obvious, so I think it was really well done. ๐Ÿ‘Œ Oh, and I liked the true ending, too! I felt it was very fitting. (at least now they can be together? that's so sad ๐Ÿ˜ข)

Once again, loved reading about your inspirations at the end, it's such a nice touch and really shows the heart and dedication you've put into making this game. (I spent about 30 minutes running like a headless chicken in search of the last coin, but that was my own fault lol)

Lovely game overall ๐Ÿ’•

I'm here to report that I played it and I enjoyed it ๐Ÿซก

It was a great game! I had fun exploring the map, reading the documents, and figuring out the puzzles. The way you incorporated the whole 'wasp' theme was very cool and I enjoyed the story (I used to be super into WW2, so that was an added flavor ^^) (oh, and I liked the boys' conversations, too! very cute and wholesome ๐Ÿคญ)

I somehow got to the true ending (after dying way too many times haha) and the flashbacks made me a little teary. ๐Ÿฅฒ I won't go into spoilers, but blind devotion is one of my fave tropes and if it's mixed with a tragic fate, that's even better. I think the characters' stories are going to stay with me for a while. ๐Ÿฅฒ

As a side note, I'm in love with the art, it's so good??? Both the designs and the art style are so striking and full of character, just delightful ๐Ÿ’•. (i especially love Bรฉla's design, it makes me go a little feral because i love uniforms ๐Ÿซ ๐Ÿ’•)

Also! I loved reading about all the references at the end of the game! It was super interesting and I'm impressed with how much thought you've put into the characters' names and the setting. ^^ (and judging by the walkthrough, there's still a chunk of stuff I haven't seen) It definitely made the search for medals worth the effort. ๐Ÿ‘Œ

[Mild spoilers below]

Wow, that was very impactful for such a short game. ;A;

Great job on setting up the atmosphere of abuse and neglect, with the wife having to walk on eggshells in fear of upsetting the husband. You made me resent Oleander in just a few sentences. ๐Ÿ˜ฃ

I spoiled myself reading the devlog (๐Ÿ˜…) so the conclusion wasn't as shocking as it could've been but I still liked it and thought it was satisfying. (both choices were good, not sure which would be better long-term) (i also think the hints were well-placed and not super obvious, so props for that ๐Ÿ‘Œ)

I almost want to say it was a feel-good game with how it ends (since you get a sense of justice when Oleander gets what he deserves) but the topic is so heavy it feels kind of wrong. Because what gets me the most about this is that the wife's situation is a grim reality to way too many people. And more often than not, they don't have an easy way out or decide to stay in hopes that things will get better (and they never do). So it's just something to think about.

Thank you, this makes me very happy ๐Ÿคญ๐Ÿ’•

Glad you liked the change at the end, too, I feel like little details like these go a long way, especially with restricted assets (and you actually get a different screen depending on the choice you make ^^).

I'd love to know what you think of Quaint if you end up playing it, too ^^
