I got to play a bit with Ilari and even in its demo state the game is really engaging — I’m super excited for the full release. Just wanted to report something: the dash ability normally has a cooldown, but if I press Space twice very quickly, it consumes both charges instantly. I wasn’t sure if that behavior is intended or not, so I thought I’d mention it.

Keep up the awesome work — can’t wait to see where this goes! 🚀

To be honest, I was already aware you were right about the point you mentioned while I was writing my comment. Why should I see the money I’ve earned or spent while the amount I currently have is shown on the screen? But I want to clarify that I’m making this comment not as a developer, but as a player :D I just thought that with your pixel art style, you could add a nice money-earning and spending animation + sound effect. It just felt to me like it could make the gameplay more fun and exciting — and I also noticed there were some questions in the comments about the money spent and earned. If the game were mine, I’d definitely try adding it, but hey, it’s your game, my friend :D And what you’ve created is awesome! Please don’t take this the wrong way :))

Now I get it! Haha, thanks for the dog-care PSA! We’ll definitely keep that in mind for future projects – healthy paws, happy dogs :D

<3

Thank you so much! Yes, it was our very first jam, and we definitely had a lot of fun (and learned a lot) during those 48 hours. We’re happy with the foundation we built and really appreciate the encouragement — we’d love to improve the game further when we get the chance.

Also, unfortunately, I had to leave for a trip on the second day, so even though we started as a team of 1 artist and 2 developers, the others had to carry on as just 1 artist and 1 developer. I’m really thankful to them, and I truly believe we can make something even bigger if we get to work together full-time on a future project.

Thank you again for everything :))

The game turned out super cute! I loved the sound effects. It would have been nice to see a UI design showing the money I spent and earned. I really liked it, and I’d definitely love to see you keep developing this!

It’s a fun and challenging platformer — I loved it! I would have liked the character physics to be polished a bit more, but even in its current state, it’s really enjoyable!

An impressive idea! I absolutely loved how you blended it with sweet drawings and music.

If there were some sounds in the game, maybe I could have had an even better time while waiting for the things I need to interact with — but even as it is now, I think you’ve done a great job. Your game has a really nice atmosphere!

You’ve balanced your own style and the simplicity of the game beautifully, creating a feeling that really comes through to the player. You’re awesome!

Playing the game with nice drawings accompanied by music and sounds gave a really good feeling :))

It’s a unique piece built around a simple mechanic.  If it was made with awareness of the theme, I’d love to know what exactly is being overgrown here 😄

Your game is at a level where it could definitely be one of those memorable games I’ve played in a long time, and seeing such a game in a game jam made me really happy. Visually and with the music, the atmosphere completely pulled me in — the details are fantastic. Like some others mentioned in their comments, at the start I wasn’t exactly sure what I was supposed to do. I was planting and harvesting seeds, but at some point, I figured out how to earn money by clicking on the heads in the shop 😄. Up until that point, I was hoping to find other characters (of course, it didn’t take that long, but still, it would have been nice to see the number of seeds we’ve harvested). Huge thanks to everyone who worked on this!

The game turned out really cute — it’s enjoyable to play and feels great overall. I would have liked to see a few more animations, and the music loop could have been a bit longer. I also wish I could switch between the lawnmower and the gun using keys like 1-2 or with a scrollbar, because when enemies are coming at me, it’s a bit tricky to both grab the weapon and dodge at the same time 😄. Thanks to the upgrades I bought, I’m now in debt with -398 money 😄. You’re awesome! You should definitely keep working on this game!

Thank you! You're absolutely right — the lack of music was definitely felt. We had plans for both background music and sound effects, but unfortunately ran out of time during the jam. It’s something we definitely want to add if we continue development.

Thank you so much! We're really glad to hear that. We had planned to add more progression systems and clearer goals, but within the limited game jam time, we prioritized making sure the game was playable and felt smooth. Still, we're happy you enjoyed the experience!

Thanks for the feedback! We agree — the lack of audio was one of the biggest things we had to sacrifice due to time constraints. We’re planning to add proper sound design and a scoring system once we return to development.

Thanks a lot! We had a great time working on it — definitely learned a lot during the process. Appreciate you hosting the jam and giving us the chance to be part of it :))

Thanks a lot! We actually had speed upgrades and other boosts in mind, tied to the soul plants you rescue and maintain. Unfortunately, we ran out of time during the jam to fully implement them — but it’s something we’d like to add if we continue development. Glad you had fun!

Thanks for the feedback! Scroll wheel item switching is actually implemented, so we'd recommend giving it another try. The issue with needing to press number keys multiple times after using an item is something we noticed a bit late, and unfortunately didn’t have time to fix during the jam — but it’s on our list to address. Totally agree on feedback visuals and SFX as well, they were planned but didn’t make it into the final build. Appreciate the detailed input!

Thank you so much. We’re glad you enjoyed it even though the evil plants gave you a hard time. We definitely agree with Ethan’s points as well — those were actually part of our initial design but we couldn’t fully implement them within the jam timeframe. Hopefully, we’ll get back to it soon and bring everything together.

Thank you! Definitely we want to finish the game but maybe after a week or so we will start working on it again. We had planned a expanding map and different boosts according to number of plants rescued. Third tool was a harvest tool for fully grown soul plants but we couldn't manage to finish it because of that we changed it to telescope(also we don't have minimap and indicator like you said).

Thank you! We had a lot planned but it was our first game jam and one of our developers(2 dev, 1 artist team) had to go for second day. So we are happy what we could finish :)
