Hello everyone,

We didn't manage to upload the game on time, but still wanted to share the game we made with whoever is interested: https://tactilevisions.itch.io/apnea

Enjoy! And thank you to the organiser(s) for hosting this jam!

Thanks for going through the effort to try my game and for the kind review :) The frame rate isn't entirely your hardware's fault; the clouds are poorly optimized, especially when you get close to them. I couldn't find a way to fix this during the jam, but I might update the game to get rid of this issue + add some graphics settings. Also, I can't take credit for creating any of the assets. But what I did was putting the assets together and implementing most of the mechanics in the game.

Cheers!

Fun! I like how the projectiles bounce from everything - even each other. And love the music!

Cool and funny art + pleasant music. Nice!

Music was overlapping/playing several times at the same time, but it wasn't a big deal.

Call me a noob, but I couldn't get past the first section. I kept getting into a situation where there are two missiles coming at me at the same time in mid-air, making very hard to deflect both.

The art style and music are very cool, though!

Hey, pretty cool concept you got here! Wish there were checkpoints along the way, starting from the beginning each time you make a mistake is no fun. Also, what's the solution for the level with the tall building in the middle?

+1 for the creepy part. Cool, glitchy music. Gives it a dreamy, slightly nightmarish quality.

Is there an objective? I picked up the item that starts the music, clicked around on the green guys, but it's not clear whether there's anything more you can do.

I couldn't get past the part where clicking the triangle switches between two sets of shapes. It seems that whichever shapes I press, I can't progress any further.

I enjoyed the pleasant music. Unfortunately, I can't say the same about the rest of the game. I promised myself not to read the instructions on the game page, because the point of the jam was to teach gameplay without the help of text. So when I started playing, I was confused about what I was supposed to do and which keys I needed to press. Walking around was straightforward, but I didn't know how to interact with anything. I tried clicking around the screen, pressing different buttons and only after two minutes or so I realized that it's "E" I need to press when close to one of the three tasks.

By the way, is there a way to finish the game? After a few minutes I gave up, because it didn't seem like I was progressing in any way.

Anyways, please take my comments as constructive critique, not discouragement. I wish you good luck on your future projects!

Can't get it to work. Tried Chrome, Edge, and Firefox. On all of them it only shows this and that's it.

Does one of the layouts suggest that you should use shift? I tried and it couldn't figure out whether it did anything

Thanks!

Let's do this!
