Ok, thanks ! I'm not home for a few days but I'm making a note, I'll check that.

I think I may have broken the restart feature while solving another bug just before submitting, sorry. This is my 3rd jam and well, I'm still not very good at everything 😅

Hi, thank you for your feedback and encouragement :)

Do you remember approximately where the game broke ?

Do you have any advice you want to share ? I'm going on holiday for a week, when I come back I want to publish an improved and fixed version of this game :)

Fun game though for me the car goes a bit too fast and it makes it difficult to control from a top-down view ! I would have added music too, and maybe a bit more visual animations

BAHAHAHAHA  I agree with the other comments, your game made me laugh ! The rock-and-big-car-big-guns atmosphere nails it, and the drifting effect on the car makes it hard to control in a fun way. Good job bro'!

Hi, I like the concept but as we move very quickly we very often pass near the objective without tackling it, ending up in frustration.

The emptiness sound effect is ok but I would have enjoyed some SFX for the propelling effect and crashe.

The controls are smooth but I think maybe we drift a bit too much ?

The limited fuel and sight are good mechanics, that I like pretty much.

Hi, I like both the lore and the gameplay. I would have enjoyed some music too though, and I could see textures mingle together / the cat have weird movements and the bird suddenly disappear sometimes. The art is nice and the water effects work well, the rat&plank is easy to navigate and their physics work pretty well :)

Hey, pretty good game ! The anti-war story is nice though a bit naive to my opinion but eh, that's political debates not game quality :) Your pixel art isn't perfect, I see you're learning but I think you have nice skills and it still looks great. I couldn't have done that and I admire people who know how to make their own visuals <3

The music is well adapted to the story too, nice work !

The cheap-tune is really funny and fits the theme well :p I like the idea and the minimalist yet nice graphics are ok.

The boat feels a bit difficult to control and it sometimes gets frustrating ><

Hi, I agree with Kerwaii it doesn't fit the theme. The quote you gave them as a justification is an example of interpretation of the jam's key theme: "DRIFT". I do not find how your game relates to drifting. Otherwise I just see a remake of the game Papers Please, same code logic, same gameplay exactly (you just changed the graphics a little bit) and even the voice that says "next" is the same (or very similar).

Hey, I'm just wondering (also because I don't want to support AI): how do you notice when it's AI ?

Same here, I don't have a controller and got stuck on the same menu so I didn't rate the game. It's a shame because the concept of childhood-like hand-drawn pirate boats appeals me !

I haven't played Celeste but I will have a look, thanks ^^

Yeah, adding mini-games - or puzzles to solve ? - could be a good idea to improve the game and make it more a game than an experience. Thanks for the insight !

Well at least you do learn how to make the art. It's something I want to do to but I feel very bad at it and don't know if I want to do pixel art, drawing in a software, or handdraw on paper then refine in a software (I'd love this later solution). So big applause for this, to me your graphics look minimalist but professional. (And I like minimalism)

Hahah ok I get that, I did something similar with my previous jam submission tbh.

For the levels scaling, if you don't want to spend too much time on it maybe just lowering the camera zoom a bit would do the trick ?

I have the same problem of not-bouncing on walls in my submitted game. I coded a bounce on the character but removed it 5mins before submission because at some places in the game it was more annoying than fun ><

You can DM me if and when you issue an improved version, I'll be happy to play your game again !

Yeah I bet you spend time on the planets, they look and feel great !

Keep learning, I think you already have pretty good skills :)

Thanks ! Yeah I agree to the experience thing. Maybe it was a bit too much on the "drifting" theme. I thought of adding multiple endings depending on the path you follow but I didn't really have time for this and I think I wanted to tell that story ?

I'll make an improved version when I'm back from family holiday -> Do you have advice or queries that would help me improve it ?

Mouahaha I beat you all :p

It's a fun minimalist game, I like the idea and I had fun trying to beat other player's score.

The physics work well, the atmosphere too even if it would have worked better with some a cozy/funny music track. The skeeter does look  like a real one, congratulations on its art and animation !

Hi ! It's good for a first jam, nicely done ^^ Neat gameplay, your code works well, the levels are fun to play (but sometimes we fall too much because the platforms are very small and if you jump with direction keys pressed you slip, it upset me at some point hahah).

Agreeing with a previous comment: for the lore you should have made a soap-character XD And yeah, music and some SFX effect (for instance, one sound when we're running, one sound for the jump) would improve your game a lot.

Hi, very fun and complete game ! The QOL is really good, the physics feel great, the music fits so well with the atmosphere. I'm amazed !

I love the character and gameplay <3 I was very annoyed at not being able to control Blud first because it's very difficlut to get how to move him, but once you got that the game is fun to play and cute :)

I would maybe make the detection area of the memories a bit bigger though as (on browser version) it looked like I just went through them without collecting them sometimes.

Haha no worries I understand, UI is never the priority in a jam. I gave you 5 stars for the graphics anyway, I love your style <3

Hi, the physics are fun and I don't know how you managed to do all these graphics within 4 days :o

I like the idea and the story somehow made me think of DragonBall's base story (the old manga version) even if the atmosphere does make me think of Outer Wilds !

Hi ! I like the gameplay and it fits the theme, the game works very well and the music is well chosen to fit the atmosphere :)

However I thinkt the difficulty is too high due to  the combination of often not knowing the direction in which we should throw the character, and having very limited resources to do so. Hence a feeling of the game being unfair.

Hi, I love the graphics ! I would have added a texture background to the dialogue UI to improve a bit the cozy atmosphere though (like sand/wood color that would make it softer and better integrated in the game visually).

Apart from that the story is nice (and I relate so much hahah) and I love the cute-Ctuluh.

Got the Exit8 vibe too, nicely done !

I'm so, so bad at this game XD

But I love the atmosphere, and the 3d(-like?) water effect mixed with 2d pixel art is really nice ! The gameplay is simple yet difficult to master, so replayability is great and challenging too :p

Thank you ! Honestly I think the biggest work was to code everything even if it's easy mechanics as I'm learning on my own.
I used assets for the graphics and audio, so feel free to check the credits on the page if you liked them :-)

Oh thank you <3 I'm very happy with everyone's comments !

Thanks a lot !

I fixed the broken thing (mostly) but didn't have time to update the page due to planning things.

Thank you !
Yes, I know about the boat. I will take time to polish it when the jam ends. If you have more advice or things you'd like to see in the game if you want to re-play it, I'm making a list of everyone's ideas and I'll take an additional 2-3 days to publish an improved version.
I'm learning on my own so any technical or game-design advice is welcome :-)

Thanks !

Thank you <3

Oh thanks, that's nice :D

Hey, thanks a lot for the detailed reply ! I'm learning Godot so it's interesting to understand a bit more about how other people work. I think I see (broadly) how the knockback works but I think I would have needed a lot more time to do something like that. Your team rocks ! :D

Feel free to message me if/when you upload a new version of your game, I'll be happy to play again !

Hi, thanks ! I'm on my phone right know but I'll have a look on the evening (it's noon here).

I made a new version of the game taking into account everyone's comments and solving bugs, I'll uploaded it when the jam ends. If you liked the game come back, you'll get a better version (with dialogues you can read, a path clearly indicated and a level completely rebuilt and reorganized).

(I can also write to you what you should do from area 11 when I'm on the computer if you want)

Hahahahahah this is cute >< Both the game and making a topic.

Thank you :D Duly noted for the dialogue, I think you're the second or third person to tell me that. In the next version the screen filter is removed from the dialogue scenes to make them more readable. And if you want another similar challenge, the level is entirely rebuilt for the future deployment after the jam ends !

Hey, I love your game. It makes me think of a simplified version of Baba is you, with a count-down and funny hand-drawn art. I got stuck at level 7 so far. Everything works fine and the cozy music is nice too. The respawn and rollback-last-move functions are sweet QOL too. Thanks !

It happens ^^ My friend couldn't play my very first attempt at a game for the very same reason.

Hi, I wanted to try your game but I don't have Windows so unfortunately I can't. Sorry !

Hi, unfortunately my (Linux) computer can't download your game I'm sorry :'(
