It is never explained how to give them the gift in game, or in the devblog.

they ARE able to, thats what worldbox did. if you bought worldbox on itch before the steam release, you got a key when it released on steam.

Reading the devblog is the only way to know that you go to the store to unlock dating, at least i think. but it doesnt explain how to unlock it still. just that you get gifts? but how do you GIVE gifts?

Update: I combed through every single file. 

The zip file is the problem somehow, I even zipped it myself and the same thing was caught.

I'm assuming it's catching a compressed file that's just compressed weirdly.

I'm trying to find which file exactly triggered it.

Update: I went through every file, and nothing was detected. I would recommend copying the files out of the zip file instead of extracting.
