Yeah, I think it would be more intuitive for the player to avoid confusion. It can still be snowflakes, as long as there's visible change for every successful hit.

Np!

Oh, no-no, that I figured out.

It's just that sometimes when red notes hit Santa, he pulsates in response, but his health bar doesn't seem to change.

Pretty nice! Though I'm not quite sure how the enemy health works - it seems like either some hits do no damage, or it takes more than one hit for the enemy's health bar to change.

Thanks!

I'm aware of the music loop issue, but it's extremely weird and I couldn't find a way to resolve it in time. Definitely something I want to fix as soon as I figure out what's going wrong.

Oh, and it actually does speed up! Just very gradually, and less and less frequently as it goes on.

Thanks! :D

Thank you very much!

That's pretty much the plan, down to "YAGOO is in another level" actually xD

This is pretty fun! I beat the game, but one thing I don't understand is, what is the direction of the reflected shot based on? Because it seems a bit random and I can't seem to figure out what exactly it depends on.

You should probably put the explanation for the mirror mode in the description at least, I didn't know it even exists until I read other comments x)

Otherwise this is actually pretty great! Fun game. How many types of enemies are there in total? 3?

Thanks! :D

I see. I was wondering if that's what it is, but wasn't sure because the color is different.

Hey, I wanted to ask - what is the pink thingie used for the mouse cursor?

Thanks!

Excited to make it into a full game in the future!

True! :D

Thanks!

Well, the jam page said not to worry about sticking to the themes...

Thanks! The inventory was the most time-consuming thing to implement xD

Thanks a lot! Really wish I could have made a more complete demo before the deadline... but at least now there's a lot more time for that!

Thanks you for the comment!

Regarding the bomb cats - I think you actually SHOULD be able to kill them when they're yellow, but for now there's no visual difference, so I'm not 100% sure. In future updates I want them to have a bigger, harmful explosion if you let them detonate, and perhaps no explosion at all if you manage to kill them before that.

Thanks for the feedback!

Thanks!

Thanks for the feedback!

The comparison to Sonic is especially interesting to me, because truth be told, I'm a lot more familiar with that series than with Megaman (I only played a little bit of the very first one, though I'd like to get better acquainted with the series at some point).

Thank you very much for the review!

And yeah, the idea for the game was that it takes place in a world that operates on a mixture of action movie tropes and sheer stupidity. So if/when I make it a full game, there might be more spoofs of iconic 80-90s IPs in there :P

Well, the idea was that you use the arrow keys with your right hand and have your left one on X and Z, I just also added WASD support just in case. Though now that I think about it, some keyboards have Z and Y swapped, which would be a problem.

Anyway, I was thinking in the future versions I'll just add customizable controls so the players can remap the keys as they like. And also gamepad support.

Thanks for the feedback!

Thank you very much!

I never know if I'm making a game too easy or too hard ^^'

Oh, and the boss was actually supposed to be somewhat more challenging with more attacks, but I ran out of time and couldn't implement that 😩

Thanks! And you're welcome for the checkpoints! :P

Thank you very much for the kind words!

Regarding the laser beam - what do you mean? Jarring in what way? 🤔

A tower defense game in space.

Story

In the future, humanity left Earth, only to be attacked by an unknown enemy. A mysterious armada of automated drones - dubbed simply "the Swarm" - hunts the scattered remnants of the human race.

EDEN-7 is one of the scientific facilities working on technologies to counter the Swarm's threat. When it comes under attack while left unguarded, the decision is made to deploy the experimental unmanned turrets to deflect the assault.

Gameplay

Build turrets of 3 types to protect the EDEN-7 station.

The enemy drones will come through dark portals at the edge of the map and follow the highlighted path to the station. Be careful, as more portals will appear eventually, and the plotted path will be shorter for each new one!

Destroying the drones will provide you with scrap, used to build more turrets. The turrets can also be destroyed to refund half of the scrap used for their creation.

After each wave press the "READY" button to start the next one.

Survive 10 waves of enemies to win. If you let through enough enemies to deplete the base's HP, you lose.

Press ESC to call the pause menu. Use mouse wheel and drag to zoom and rotate camera.

I second the end song request.

1. "If I could... I'd just soley work at the Post Office."

2. "The too sign's too faded to read..." (?)

3. "Ready as I can be... My hearts actually pounding a bit."

4. No screenshot, but iirc somewhere in the library the word "catastrophic" was misspelled

5. In a couple of places "your" was misspelled as "you're", but unfortunately I don't remember exactly where.

Finally got a chance to play it.

I'd say the game is shaping up nicely! The spritework is gorgeous, and the gameplay is pretty fun, though I think I might need more time to properly evaluate it!
