"-Prevent duplicate keypresses by increasing key repeat interval by 50 millis."
THANK YOU :D
I just did a quick test and it definitely feels much much better to play now with this change. I am looking forward to sinking some time into this.
I wanted to come back and try to beat this game, but I'm using Linux now instead of Windows, and the game crashes as soon as I go down the first set of stairs. No error message or anything, and everything else up to that point seems to work fine. I can buy an item at the shop and walk all around, but when I go down the stairs it crashes. I am using Linux Mint 21.3.
edit: just noticed when I try to run it from the Terminal, when it crashes it says:
"No usable version of libssl was found"
final edit:
I had to go here:
http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main/o/openssl1.0/
and install libssl1.0.0_1.0.2n-1ubuntu5.13_amd64.deb
:)
works!
Great points! I didn’t even think that the “Follow” feature on the website already provides that method of seeing new content from a developer. It does seem that in general most developers that I have encountered using this feature are not using it as intended. Though I’m still not sure it’s necessary at all because you can subscribe to Feed updates from a specific game on the website already.
... I wonder what % of the mails OP received were of that nature. The way the complain was made, I dare say, near zero.
The emails I was getting seemed to typically involve the creator of one of the games in the bundle sending out notifications that they had a new game / product available (something that was not in the bundle). I can’t speak to how often specific developers used this feature because I would always unsubscribe right away.
Unfortunately this approach doesn't work for me, otherwise I would just tick the box that says "Never send me any email" (if that option even works?). I do want to get emails from the games I care about, I just don't want to be subscribed to emails for hundreds of other games that I haven't looked at yet.
Thanks for your input!
Hey there. Yes I did run a script to "activate" all of the games from the bundle. I can't remember exactly but I think at the time I just thought that was what I was supposed to do. Before activating them in that way there was something about it that made it more difficult to browse through the games. Perhaps in the official Itch application, or something like that? I just remember whatever I was doing I couldn't see things properly, then after activating them with the script I could browse everything in a way that made more sense. I didn't realize at the time that there were implications about subscribing to mailing lists for each activated game.
Yes, please, if it is possible to deactivate entries in my account that I haven't accessed yet, that would be great. :)

The old post got archived so I am reposting this in hopes of finding a solution, as I am still plagued by the emails. I unsubscribe each time I get a new one, but there are so many that they keep coming.
I get it. Though to be honest it kinda rubs me the wrong way that in all of the posts I've seen about this issue, at most I've seen a mod / admin come in, make a couple of suggestions, then just disappear. Like, at least just make a statement to definitively say it is or isn't possible. I would understand that, but the lack of communication and seemingly deliberately ignoring the complaints just annoys me.
Hey.
Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately this option is not suitable for me. I don't want to turn off ALL emails from itch.io. There are certain games that I want to follow and continue getting emails about. I just want to be able to turn off the emails for all of the other games that I'm not actively following.
If there was some way to just clear them all out, then I could subscribe to the 2 or 3 games I want to get emails from, that would be awesome. But since I can see people asking this same question in the forum going back years I feel like it's just stuck this way. Odd way to have a store set up.
Hello,
A while back I purchased the Ukraine game bundle. Ever since then I have been receiving email notifications any time there is an update to one of the hundreds of games on the list. So far the only option I have found is to unsubscribe from them one at a time as the emails come into my inbox. I would like to unsubscribe from all of these emails going forward. Is there a way to do this?
Thanks for your continued work on this game Slashie.
I have a little suggestion / request. When you eventually bring back the ASCII graphics, would it be possible to toggle between that and the tile graphics while in-game, similar to how it works in Brogue? Not a big deal of course but it would be a nice feature to have :)
EDIT: The bellow complaint has been fixed with the v0.3.0 update
I keep coming back to this game but I find that no matter what device I am playing it on, I frequently get a problem of one direction input being turned into 2 inputs. So like I'll press a direction one time but every now and then it moves 2 spaces, which sometimes gets me killed. I think it maaay be times where I perhaps held the direction button a fraction of a second longer than usual. If so perhaps there is some kind of cooldown between button presses that could be modified? Not sure, but so far I've experienced the same issue on several different computers and 1 laptop.
That being said..... I love this game but whenever I try to get serious with it and attempt to beat it I end up dying at some point due to moving farther than I intended to and that kills my motivation to continue.
As the title says... I bought the Ukraine bundle and ever since I keep getting emails from the developers of various games and I cannot find a way to turn them off, other than one at a time as the emails come in.
I notice there is a box in the Settings page that says "Never send any email to me". I don't want to do this as I would prefer to still get emails from the games I care about right now.
Thanks that would be amazing. I have noticed that sometimes (especially in WiFi) the game would interpret one button press as two. This would occasionally make me take an extra step towards enemies. I'm assuming it's a latency problem so I'm hoping an offline version would resolve it. I really want to play this game all the way to the end but it gets a little frustrating when I take an extra step towards my death =p
The game would behave as if the message window was opened, without actually displaying the window. Meaning, everything would freeze and prevent me from moving or doing any actions (because the game thinks the message window is open). The game would appear to be completely frozen until I press the button that normally closes the message window, then I could continue playing.
Great game!
For me, running the zrl.jar , the message history window would not work. Works fine running zrl-jcurses.bat though.
Also, I found the volume tuned to be a little too high. Like it was difficult to balance the sound of the game with other audio sources on my computer.
Thanks for your hard work and looking forward to seeing more updates :)
