Ahh, I must have missed the itch page on this game, my bad! I was trying to interpret the win condition from the in game lore page lol. This is my first game jam and I'm not used to navigating this site and getting instructions from the public pages.

I love the concept of a close up horror chess with fog of war! I collected the pawns and tried to intercept and block the enemies, but I could never get the enemies to react or figure out what the win condition was. Feels like it would be very solid if the gameplay was fleshed out and clarified a little more.
Visual novels aren't my favorite for gameplay, but your writing and themes made my time with this game very enjoyable and involved. Personally I'm a believer that societal expectations are not a one-size-fits-all solution for personal happiness and prosperity, so I was just as disgusted as the MC was lol. I like that neither ending was presented as a happy, cheerful ending. I would say this game has made me the most uncomfortable so far with its themes of loss of control. Fantastic work.
Visual design is awesome, gross, and creepy! Loved the subdued, glitched audio as well. Gameplay was pretty fun in a retro dungeon-crawl way. Only problem was that it was not clear what the loss conditions were. I never got apprehended while eating the food like the warning pop-up would imply, the guards just seemed to randomly decide my time was up while I was roaming around looking for patients.
