I hope that it makes exercising more fun! Enjoy 😄

I like the tear-off quest idea! You could easily post this somewhere a lot of people are sitting and see what happens!

Sounds really cool! Is there any way we can help bring your idea to life?

Those are some really amazing ideas! I love turning real life activities into more of an adventure, and anything that helps us see life through new perspectives. Thank you for sharing! My partner and I have been playing with the idea of making a scavenger hunt that helps you look at the world in new ways, and pair it with some journalling.

I love this! Thank you for submitting this neat idea.

Really feeling the SolarPunk vibes with the advent of the Summer Solstice (and my wedding!) So much potential for games in that genre! I may have a post-apocalyptic solarpunk game coming in the future. We’ll see!

We are just getting started, and already things are getting healthy in here! The games I’m seeing are fun, mindful, and beautifully designed. So far this jam is quite wholesome, and I’m really looking forward to seeing what’s to come!

Check out all the submissions and leave your thoughts in their comments! These designers deserve it.

Trust x Tension

I also had a ton of fun making my own project for the jam: The Healthy Adventurer

Feeling very grateful for how this jam is coming together. Invite your friends to join us! Lot of good going around. 😄

Ooh, spicy… I can definitely see this being played by couples to have fun and build their relationship!

This is absolutely a Rules-Bright game! Very fun and great design!

This is super cute and the layout design is inspiring!

I love this. Really looking forward to checking out more of your games!

This game is actually awesome. Great work! Looks like a good fit for the Healthy Game Jam if you are interested!

Summer is almost here! In honor of the 29th expedition, I’ve added 29 Community Copies. Enjoy!

This game is so wonderful! I can’t wait to try it out 😄 Similar to my new game, The Healthy Adventurer!

It would also be a great fit for the Healthy Game Jam if you like!

Wow, such a wonderful little game! I would love to see it in the Healthy Game Jam if that suits your fancy!

Aw thanks! Me too! 💙

The Jam has officially begun! So excited to see what you all come up with.

And I have a question:

What kind of health topics do you wish were more widely discussed or practiced? How would you like to see those topics represented in the games that we play?

Feel free to brainstorm here! We can help you out 😄

Awesome! Honestly the hardest part designing this was figuring out how to use it for group games.

Try it out, and let me know how it goes! I would love any and all feedback 😄

Great questions!

1 - My primary concern is with generative AI rather than assistive AI. Using AI for spell check is fine. I find it funny that you want to remove the “impolite” parts! The way you speak is the soul of your creation, so it feels sad to lose that by having AI remove that soul and make it more generic. For something like that, it can be quite fun to ask a friend to read over your words and help you figure out what you need to edit. As for translating it to different languages: AI is still very often incorrect. It will do no favors for anyone with a poor translation. And for a game about geography, it makes the most sense to involve people who speak other languages! Join some indie game discord servers, and I’m sure you’ll be able to find someone who wants to help with translation.

Ultimately, the answer to your question about AI is that you must use your own words. You can use AI to help you organize your ideas, but don’t copy+paste anything it says to you. This is your project that you are creating because you love it, so believe in yourself!

2 - You still completely own your ideas! Your game will be sold for a charitable cause in this bundle, but there will be nothing preventing you from selling it elsewhere, even here on Itch.

Oh that’s interesting!

Maybe call them “Cartographer” and “Scholar” 😄

Though the Healthy Game Jam is a fundraiser bundle to support my dad, you do not need to create a game to support the cause! I highly recommend you give it a shot, but if you cannot finish a game in time, here are some other ways you can contribute:

  • Share the Healthy Game Jam with others.
  • Submit a game, supplement, zine, etc. that was already completed before the jam.
  • Support other creators in making their own games for the jam.
  • Share the link to My Dad’s Fundraiser, and donate if you have the means.

Thank you for showing up! It means a lot to me 💙

Is there going to be a specific theme or setting for these journalling prompts?

That is an amazing idea! I really look forward to seeing it come to life.

By the way, sorry for not noticing your post was pending my approval! I’ve added it now.

This is such a great idea! I would really love for you to submit this to the Healthy Game Jam if you like! And any other games like this!

Hey folks! I’m really looking forward to seeing what kind of games you all make! And what previously-completed games you choose to submit!

This thread is for freely sharing our ideas for the Jam! Anything we’re excited about making or ideas freely given to others. Maybe we choose to work together to bring an idea to life. And maybe we build a healthier community in the process.

Here’s some to start:

  • An adventure where the players have to heal an important forest from an unnatural sickness…
  • An tabletop safety tool using concepts from Non-Violent Communication to resolve conflicts at the table.
  • A hack of real life that makes your daily self-care practices into a game!
  • A solo journaling game with guided meditations!
  • A Healer class/playbook for your favorite game that represents your own healing journey!

So many possibilities! So many exclamation points! I’m not overly excited, you are! So add your ideas to the conversation below, you are worth it!

That's what I'm talking about! Health is more than just physical, it's mental, too.

Be sure to check out the TTRPGs Teach Jam!

That’s a great question! In general, I find education to be quite healthy. How do you feel your game makes the world a healthier place?

Thanks for the reminder!

This is absolutely hilarious.

Great work! How do you make those screenshots where the papers look like they are in 3d space?

This is awesome! Is there a chance you will provide hyperlinks to the artist’s pages?

Aww how did I miss that?! Sorry for my ignorance, and thank you for your reply!

Great little system! It seems like the only way to refresh your Results is by being Out? If someone uses their skills expertly to avoid getting 3 strikes, and thus never get taken Out, how would their Results refresh?

Thank you so much! Just wanted to let you know that I used some of your art in my Cloud Empress adventure module: Slipping through the Cracks. I would love to send you a free copy of it if you are interested!

Thanks so much for your response, Watt. I’ve tried all of the advice I’ve found, but so far the only thing that’s working is your copy and paste advice haha. Here’s hoping I’m able to make it through without it getting corrupted again. I suppose if it does, I can just copy and paste again to extend the timer. Thanks again!

Is anyone else running into the issue of the template crashing every time you make an edit? For context, I am on an iPad Air M2. I’ve only done a little bit of the formatting so far, and originally everything was fine. But as of today, any time I try to edit the template at all, I can save the changes, but then if I try to go back to my projects, the program crashes. When I open it back up, it appears as though the changes have been saved, but then when I open the file, they have not.

Feeling a little bit worried because I’m excited for my project and I have a lot to do, but I don’t want this to be a fatal roadblock. I’ve redownloaded the template, and started over, and it’s working for now…

Also, is there any way to get rid of the “missing resources” popup every time I open the template?

So grateful that you are sharing this resource! And major bonus points for the homage to All the Rain Promises and More. As soon as I saw that picture, I knew I wanted to read what you have to share.

I love this! Simple and fun. How do you make the isometric dungeon layout?

Did someone say Wild Worlds?

I'm in.
