I've been using hcommons (a beautiful model of what an open academic community can be- join us!) as a resource for my job, and I've decided that's a great place to build a foundation for this project. That feels like a good place to collect and consider the "pieces" i list above, (and much more) including a growing list of what we need, what we want to offer, what we need to find a user for, etc (individually, locally, globally). I called it "wonder" but please check out my other stuff too! And I'd love if you tell me your thoughts, ideas, share it, etc!

Thanks! In the animation classes at Bkly City College we used that technique a lot, it's called an "animatic". It's intended for other members of the creative team (not the public) that's why it's so rough. I guess they do that a lot in the animation, film, and videogame industries...?
Just out of curiosity did you listen to the version that's only audio, also? How was the volume on that, for you?
What resources or "game pieces" do we really need that aren't "on the board," are being tragically underutilized, or maybe haven't been invented yet? What strategies can we cultivate for how the pieces will interact, and finally, how does this all fit together into a fun series of stories and other enjoyable products (that saves the world)?
The Menu, Table of Contents, or Idea Board- PART 2:
The Game Pieces:
- Resources (or "pieces")- ones we desperately need to solve a specific problem, ones we desperately need to stop using, or ones which could be helpful if we use them more, etc
- Current Technologies which could be pivotal, with links to Public Domain guides, studies, etc explaining them
- Potential solutions not yet perfect, with links to studies
- EXAMPLES:
- windmills that don't kill birds,
- batteries that aren't poison,
- electronics that don't enable wars and human rights violations on other continents,
- Symbiotic relationships which already benefit multiple species
- etc
- Creative Methods of other methods or technologies as goals or examples
- Theater- examples- Theater of the Oppressed by Augusto Boal, Capitalist Performances by Edward Bernays, Historical False Flag Events
- Speculative Fiction as explorations of possible societal directions or technologies, and the repercussions thereof- examples- Star Trek, Douglas Adams books, 1984, Octavia Butler, etc
- Cultural Traditions to embrace and honor but not co-opt or cannibalize
- Original Short Stories and "Works In Progress" by William Monk and others
- Audio readings:
- The above mentioned original fiction
- Public Domain Fiction as explorations of storytelling from various periods,
- Open Access and Creative Commons reference materials, such as
- relevant scientific articles,
- government studies and resources
(MORE SOON!)
- Current Technologies which could be pivotal, with links to Public Domain guides, studies, etc explaining them
Here are some ideas on what resources or "game pieces" are already "in play", some "pieces" that we really need that aren't "on the board" or maybe haven't been invented yet, strategies for how they interact, and finally, how does this all fit together into a fun series of stories and other enjoyable products?
The Menu, Table of Contents, or Idea Board:
- Problems- current, impending, unrecognized, or eventual
- local- current- examples: (NOTE: "lack" also means un-affordability)
- lack of quality food,
- lack of environmentally sustainable options for essential needs such as transportation, housing, etc
- lack of fun, emotional safety, community, communication, etc
- etc
- global- current- examples:
- (mostly the same problems, although the solutions vary somewhat)
- local- current- examples: (NOTE: "lack" also means un-affordability)
Just an update- I removed the password requirement.
The link below will take you to the page, and the downloads are free and safe, and you don't have to enter your email, but even if you did, I'm the only one who would see it.
I only set it up with a password requirement in case any of the family was nervous about privacy- does anyone care? I'm not going to share anything i think is secret or embarrassing, and at this point, I don't think any of "the public" are likely to visit unless we start sharing the link.
QUESTION: What do you think about the somewhat conversational or poetic rhythm of my Dad's navy story ("Magazine Watch")? Does it sound weird how many of the sentences are incomplete, (this is the unedited original version- how he wrote it). It looks almost like notes, that he intended to finish later, but I'm not certain, because there are some pieces that he wrote in that style which I know he considered "finished". Does it flow, this way? Perhaps I'll do a slight edit with more complete grammar, so we can compare them...?
Other thoughts? Should I beep the "b****" word?
