Loved the graphics and audio of the game! Thank you for playing and I have rated yours

Hey ba7op. yours was actually one of the first I played, it was heaps of fun :D

Hey there, Bumblo was great, I did comment but I think it was just under your partners comment on mine. It was a fun game

I'm glad you had a great time! I spent the first six days redesigning my tilesets, so I feel for you with the pixel art! That's awesome that you've been Jamming before, this was my first :D Congratulations and good luck in the future!

Gave your game a rating, had some issues with the jumping but other than that it was fun :D

Hey thanks for the good feedback! There actually is a soul counter in the top left corner at all times, unless the game somehow bugged out for you. Glad you enjoyed it nontheless

That was a fun classic platformer! The audio effects were adorable :3

Thanks for giving it a go and being fairly loose on criticisms <3 - I have many plans for a sequel/revamp when I come back to this game (Currently on another project :D) Congratulations again on the Jam

Santa is totally real, F- for theme :P - Congrats on the jam

If you meant the removal of the souls, they weren't meant to be removed in the second scene, it was a reminder of what you did. Thanks for the feedback though!

Hey guys, in the final day + change, we all need a few extra hands. Ill rate your submissions if you give mine a go.

Also congratulations to everyone who participated in the Jam

Hey, great little game. Please rate my submission as well - https://stopproductions.itch.io/soul-gatherer

Thanks for the feedback, Jammer! I had to think of something for the theme, so I apologize but I am not sorry. Thanks, getting a lot of mixed responses for the music but I am glad when people enjoy my mess :D

Thanks fellow Jammer! They have a flow to them, but if broken it's hard to get it back (Source - Missed the floating bridge one 6 times in a row)

Hey, thanks for playing! Yeah I was very vague about what to do and thats a big oof there, but I appreciate the kind words. Hope you had fun with the Jam

Thanks heaps! Im really glad the most criticism I get is from the music. I studied one tutorial on LMMS like two months ago so I had zero hopes for it anyway. The pit was intentional, hence the climb to get out of it again. :') - Still though, thank you for playing and congratulations on the Game Jam!

Will be rating yours very shortly. Thanks for looking out - https://stopproductions.itch.io/soul-gatherer

Congrats on the halfway mark my fellow. I will rate yours presently - https://stopproductions.itch.io/soul-gatherer

Ill rate yours shortly - https://stopproductions.itch.io/soul-gatherer

congrats to all Jammers - https://stopproductions.itch.io/soul-gatherer

The contrast of colour to monotone was fantastic! Great adventure with a lot of soul!

Thanks a bunch! The original art design was Cuphead-esque, however pixel art was chosen for time constraints

Thanks for playing, very very fair assessment of the mess I made :D

I'm sorry that my puppet spoke through you. You are worthwhile in life though, internet friend.

Have seen you popping up all the time. Would be great if you could rate my game - https://stopproductions.itch.io/soul-gatherer

Thanks for playing! I really wasn't clear on that. The house at the very beginning was the only objective of the second half. You could go and see what the souls were really saying, but the last bit of the first half says NOW GO HOME, which was the only clue to it. Non-purposefully vague though.

Hope you enjoyed your first Jam! - https://stopproductions.itch.io/soul-gatherer

Hey there fellow Jammer! Please give my game a go, https://stopproductions.itch.io/soul-gatherer

I am downloading yours now

Hey! Congrats for also making a game in one week!

Had a lot of fun jumping the fences, and the insomniac feeling definitely came through.
Only constructive criticism, removing the shadows for the status bars. Other than that its a fun little game.

Yeah I didn't have much time to flesh out a lot but am still proud of what I managed. The second level is just meant to go back to the starting point of the level. (The NOW GO HOME! part of the walking scene was meant to be a hint but definitely too subtle).
I only had time to playtest my game once or twice before releasing, and as I knew exactly where to go that may be why I didn't notice the poor hitboxes, definitely something I will be improving on (Or keeping the gimmick but giving it use)

Thanks for playing internet friendo! I wholeheartedly agree with the music, sacrifices were made for time. It is only a four beat loop overlapping itself, I just needed something in the background.

Terrifying to play at 3am with headphones on in darkness. Great execution of the theme I believe. Only criticism is that the move speed is just a little too slow (Only just though). Fantastic game and one I'm going to come back to in the daylight

(1 edit)

Thanks muchly! The song is not the original sound I mixed together, Godots 8bit import setting and some pitch control made it that. I will probably come back and make a bigger version of the game, with better spritework. As for the controls, I really wanted to make a sliding puzzle with the slopes, but ran out of time.

Edit - To add to my comment about time. The level design, character work, programming(And learning GDscript), music and twist were all added in the last 24 hours. i spent six days reworking the tileset and less than half of it got used in the end.
