If you need music check my community post

(1 edit)

I am a budding chiptune/EDM artist and wondering if anyone needs music for their game.  I mostly specialise in Chiptune, but I can do decent EDM.

No lyrics though. I use the Cheaper FL studio :C.

Also, I can do level design for Platformers. I've had about 1 year coding in Gdevelop so I know how to use it. By the way, my level design is very gimmicky, so be wary of that.

I'd rather do music production, but level design is an option.

If you're interested, contact me through this page.

Thanks! I tried to go for a hand-drawn look (I cant put in real art so its the next best thing XD)

Thanks!

Yea, I get what you mean. I'm currently reworking another game I've made but If I come back to this I'll change it.

Also, your game was great!

Yea Gdevelop's weird like that. I wish I could switch but I can't get Unity or Unreal to work and I don't know how to learn Godot

Yea that's how I explained it to others XD

Above all, I love this game's sense of creativity. The propelling mechanic is so cool and probably the only time I've enjoyed mouse movement this jam. However, it is a little finnicky to use at times.

I couldn't see much, but from what I saw, this is awesome and one of the best games I've played so far in this jam.

I love all the visuals, music, and the INSANE amount of polish. Like, how could you make something THIS polished in a week! However I have one problem with it:

The aspect ratio could be changed, I know it's supposed to be hard but I feel like 16:9 would give your more room for the controls. Although, you could change it to 4:3 midway through the game as an added challenge.

However everything else is awesome. EASILY the best game I've played so far.

Even if the lack of audio and originality were a slight problem, this game is just really fun to play, and that's what matters to be honest. Great job, keep it up!

Very cute game with nice sounds and funny idea. However, the controls could us some work.

ok but you just need to press the screen

Fair Enough

Ok then :C.

You would need a DS emulator like DraStic.

I was wondering if i would be able to make mine a New Super Mario Bros DS mod, since i know how to make levels for it.

I had no time to add music, but i have unused boss fight music which i REALLY like

My Song

Fair enough :D

I love the little characters and the engaging gameplay. My only problem is that the voice that says "WINNER!" and things like that can be annoying to me. I love the puzzles, and Game Maker's Toolkit did a devlog on his game about magnets.I reccomend checking it out, it's a really good series.

I love the franticness of it all. Reminds me of Wario ware! Great job, you've got my highest rating so far!

Yea, the button mapping kinda sucks. I also reccomend using a controller for an overall better experience. Thanks for the feedback.

I admit , the alternating wall jump is basically impossible, and i couldnt think of anywhere else to map it. I HIGHLY reccomend using a controller for a better experience. Sorry about that ;C

I didnt use any free assets, i just used my OK pixel art skills.

Also, I'm gonna try to learn how to make handrawn art for games. Should i make a platformer like this in a completely handrawn style?

Yea, the sound REALLY needs work. I dont like jsfxr (the sound maker built into GDevelop) but i needed a quick sound so i could focus on everything.

I like it, but there is input delay on the jump and i cant get past the first obstacle :C

A very funny, stylized game. That poor person computer XD

This is a great idea with a lot of potential, but there is only two things I think you should change if you ever remade this.

The art itself is not bad, but this game uses pixel art and vector art in the same places, and it doesn't look right. If you ever remake this, it would be better if you stuck with one style.

Secondly, i like how to pigeon helps you, but I think the fact that he tells you everything you need to do doesn't let the play sink more time into each puzzle.  I think you should make it so you only can get 3 hints through the game, and that the pigeon tells you those hints.

Overall, solid idea with a lot of potential.

Also extensiON was one of my favourite games of this jam, but I couldn't get past the boss.

I also had boss music that went unused, but I think it could be used for something else

Bandlab Song

I love the creative idea and the difficulty! All I would do is polish it up and change the music. You should make an after-jam version where you polish it up and release it on Google Play Store! This seems like the sort of game where i could spend a long bus ride and never get bored! Who knows, i could make you some music!

Since it was part of a deadline, I didn't have time to clean up a lot of the mechanics.  The title animation barely plays,  but i still have the slides that play as PNG files. I'll put them in the comments section of my game. And I didn't find most of the levels hard, but yet again I've played loads of Super Mario World, though i can admit level 4 is a absolutely HARD level with the tricky ice platforming and that DIFFICULT wall jumping section. If you think i should make an after-jam version where i have more time to finish it and make it more easy, reply to this.

Its basically like, say you make a game for the PS2, and then make a version for Xbox and Nintendo Switch. The PS2 and Xbox  version are diffrent "builds " of eachother, because they're both made to work on diffrent hardware.

Great art and lighting! I love the blue-black style of the cave! But, how do you get past the first level? Im not that good at puzzle games :C.

Can you export diffrent builds of your game after the jam ends? Basically, if i only make a web build before the jam ends, can i make a windows or linux version after the jam?

Note: This is a slightly rushed release, so expect glitches and bugs.

If you have any opinions on my game, do not hesitate to share them in a nice manner. And please consider leaving a review on it.

I hope you enjoy my game!

Good! Though, when you're in the ship select menu, you can still move the ship with the arrow keys.

Also, did you know you can play this with an Xbox 360 Controller?

I dont how how to make penalties for missing the bullets, though i might add it in the mobile version.
