Hi Krys! I’m Stefano Videsott.

I’m developing a short (15/20-min) 2D indie game called Just My Job, and I have some roles that might be perfect since you are looking to start out in voice acting. The game is a bureaucratic thriller set during the Manhattan Project. The player does mundane, repetitive desk jobs, slowly realizing they are blindly contributing to the creation of the atomic bomb. One of the stages is a telephone switchboard operator at Los Alamos. The player has to physically connect cables and listen to a brief fragment of the call to “test line stability.”

I’d love to have you voice some of the female callers’ fragments. At first, you’d be voicing completely mundane, everyday conversations (a wife talking to her husband at the base, random chats). But as the level progresses, the fragments get darker, and the player starts overhearing classified, fragmented calls between project staff, scientists, and families dealing with the strict secrecy of the Met Lab and the Trinity Site.

This would be a super low-commitment project and a great way to add something unique to your portfolio: just a handful of very short, impactful lines that will get a vintage radio filter over them.

The game is already playable, the minigames are all more or less defined, and I’m currently looking to team up with a 2D artist to replace my greybox prototype with actual art, so I don’t need any recordings right now. I just wanted to introduce myself, pitch the idea, and see if this vibe (a mix of mundane and dark historical thriller) is something you’d be interested in doing down the line. Let me know what you think!

Hello, I’m Stefano Videsott, a Computer Science Student currently working on a 2D narrative/puzzle simulator called Just My Job. (You can check out my portfolio here: www.stefanovidesott.com)

I’m looking for a 2D Artist / Illustrator to partner up and define the visual identity of the game.

The Game: Just My Job is a short bureaucratic thriller set during the Manhattan Project. The player takes on the roles of various workers performing mundane, repetitive tasks (stamping forms, managing control panel dials, checking weather radars…). The horror and dissonance come from the fact that you are blindly contributing to the creation of the atomic bomb, hidden behind the veil of daily bureaucracy. My plan is to keep the project very simple (the gameplay will be around 15 minutes to complete the game), so the required asset list is short, and we can realistically finish and release a highly polished experience on itch.io in a matter of weeks without it turning into an endless development cycle.

Current State of the Project: This is not just an idea phase! The core game is already prototyped and fully playable from start to finish in Godot 4. All the mechanics are coded and working: * A drag-and-drop desk simulator for documents. * Interactive mechanical dials and meters. * A quality control inspection table. * A CRT radar minigame. * The scripted cinematic ending.

Right now, it’s all grey boxes, placeholder PNGs, and code-generated shapes. That’s where you come in.

The Art Style (What I’m looking for): I am looking for a highly stylized, hand-drawn 2D aesthetic. I am not looking for photorealism or standard pixel art. Instead, I’d love a strong, textured, and expressive illustrative style. (Some game examples with graphic similar to what I’m looking for are: Slice of Sea, Cuphead and Papers Please)

Your task will be to create tactile interfaces (mechanical dials, vintage documents, radar screens) that feel like they have been inked and painted by hand.

Compensation & Scope: This is an hobby project. Since the programming foundation is already laid out, the scope is very well defined and highly manageable (it’s a short, impactful experience). I’m looking for someone who loves the premise and wants to collaborate creatively as an equal partner.

Interested? If you like the sound of this and want to see some gameplay footage of the prototype, please send me an email at work@stefanovidesott.com or reach out to me on Discord @ apeiron.cz (the email will probabbly have faster replys).

Thanks for reading!
