Thank you! Yes, the Atari-styled cover was a big defining factor of this game for us very early on, mainly going off the cover and color scheme of Pitfall! Glad you enjoyed the game and found it relaxing haha. We don’t actually have a name for the demolitions robot, seems like we might have to come up with one!

Thanks, Bomberman and Minesweeper were definitely the main inspirations for gameplay!

It’s definitely possible! Consider reading some of the tips on the game page if you’re struggling with a specific floor.

Played and rated your game, here’s my game! https://stealthninjax.itch.io/demolition

Fun game, I could not find the yellow door for the yellow key however. The reload mechanic and shooting was interesting.

Extremely disappointed to hear this. Would've thought based on the overwhelming majority of all the votes on the other discussion as well as Asif's decision on stream, that these games would be disqualified, however, they are instead being rewarded. Unfortunate that those that manipulate their votes and include ads in their games are left alone, the community's decision is ignored, and the games are allowed to win. Hoping that future jams will implement needed rules correctly so it is completely fair for everyone.

Hello, I would like to sum up some disagreements with statements in your reply and potential concerns regarding your jam submission:

  1. Your game is free with ads. If there is any way you can generate ad revenue from people simply trying to play/test your game for the jam, it should not be allowed as a jam submission.
  2. Your game is only available on the Google Play store, meaning those without access to it cannot play your game. You also included a misleading download button with no downloadable files, otherwise it probably wouldn't have been allowed to be submitted in the jam.
  3. "...and frankly we were very disappointed that even though we took the time to check everyone's efforts, most of you did not do the same."

Your game was the 3rd most rated game, with 22 ratings, most of which came from outside the jam according to romsteady. For those that participated in the jam, some of them may not have been able to play your game as, again, they did not have access to the Google Play store.
  4. "...this behavior is not fitting with the game developers' community, and even more so with the itch community."
"...I think none of us has ever come across such rude behavior in the past, and I feel that this is more about the prize pool than anything else"

These statements come off as extremely arrogant and make it seem like you're trying to play the victim here. Where is this coming from? No one in previous discussion posts or even your jam submission comments was rude to you, as far as I can see. There were only concerns as to how your game was submitted, the inclusion of ads in a jam submission, and the way you received votes.

Just to clarify, I do not benefit whether your game is disqualified or not, however, I believe it is unfair to others in the game jam if your game remains in the jam due to vote manipulation and the existence of some of the described issues. And if you "certainly could not care less about who wins the prize money", I hope you can understand as to why many of us believe this way. For the good of the game developers' and itch community, I hope you choose to resolve some of the above issues in future jam submissions, and I wish the best of luck to you in future jams.

First off, just wanted to say thank you so much for investigating this. My opinion is that these games should be disqualified, as it is in no way fair to everyone that worked hard in developing their games for this jam without manipulating votes.

As Asif and others have said, there are some games that should be disqualified. As shown in the review by Asif, the game Leap of Faith has nothing to download. However, they have a download button with nothing there so that there is technically "something" to submit, otherwise it probably wouldn't have allowed them to submit their game to the jam. The game was also submitted to 3 other jams, and you can only get it on the Google Play store, which is unfair to those that don't have Android.

Asif also talks about other games he would like to disqualify like Why You Do This To Me? and yet both of these games won 1st and 2nd place. Can we get any sort of clarification on this? Thanks.

Weird, I use Windows 10 as well and I would think it would be relatively easy to run, as it's in a zip file.

Hi everyone,

I submitted my game to the jam yesterday and am currently looking for more people to rate it, as I currently have 3 ratings so far. If you have time I would love it if you check out my game here: https://stealthninjax.itch.io/shade

Make sure to read the controls, rate and comment and I'll be sure to check out your game as well if I haven't already!

Thanks! I'll be sure to try out your game when I get the chance.

Same, my game is finished and I'm not touching it so hopefully he will be able to create submission links for us when he sees our messages. It was nice of him to give an extension in the first place for those busy with work or school.

Sent you an email at 11:58, finished the game and ready to submit

I would like an extension if possible, I can have the game done by 11:59 PM tonight.
