Fantastic game and interpretation of both the theme and limitation.

My only note is that the level select hover sound is a quite piercing, but that's very minor. The rest of the sound and music is great.

This was cool (and quite tough) as someone else said I really like the random events. I did not take enough notice of my dwindling resources on my first attempt and was just blindly increasing loyalty. This did not go well.

My interface was unfortunately very squished, which made it a little overwhelming to look at. I was looking for a full screen button but couldn't see one in Firefox or chrome, but the screenshots of the UI look really nice so I have rated based on those for presentation.

I won! Nice game and interpretation of the limitation.

I found that the speed upgrades didn't seem that useful to me as I was able to spawn so many units that they would slow down on corners/by towers anyway - but that may just be my perception.

Kudos for having so many entities on screen at once, the game ran very well.

I do think it was quite easy as the units are free and I can just keep spawning them, but still very fun.

Nice work!

Really nice interpretation of the limitation. It felt a little bit strange to me that when there are multiple of the same word I would only get credit for typing one. For whatever reason I wanted to be able to hit both at once.

I liked the colour matching element to the gameplay though, that added some word choice strategy.

Nice work!

lmao this is the most unique take on the theme/limitation I have seen so far.

Love the blurring effect as more beers are consumed (and I assume steering got more difficult too?)

Love the aesthetic and sound design. My orbs kept falling to craters :(

My poor orbs.

Lots of fun, well done team!

Hi just wanted to let you know that the download does not seem to be available (just in case you were not aware).

(1 edit)

Lots to like about this game, the art in particular.

I liked the concept of the game, I just wish there was a little more to do (although I understand as it is a short jam). I couldn't tell if keeping my workers bars high was making me more money so I opted to mostly just let them work until the exclamation mark appeared above their head.

Could do with a game speed toggle as well, I made it to December but stopped there as it got a little repetitive.

Still a really great entry, especially for such a short game jam. Well done!

Thanks, what kind of bugs did you encounter?

Thanks!

Thanks for the feedback!

Circle being small is a good shout, could definitely be made larger/clearer.

What do you mean by stuck? Was the game bugged or you couldn't complete the level?

Thanks for playing/thanks again for the feedback.

Very nice. Really clean aesthetic, camera shake/impact feels great.

Played a few games my high score was only 10, it gets chaotic quite quickly (or I guess my movements get chaotic quickly).

Nice work!

Nice this was quite fun, my best score was only 49, not sure how good that is.

I had a few moments where I think I ran out of time to input, rather than inputting the wrong key (maybe?) It was a little unclear, maybe a hint at how much time is remaining for each input could be an improvement? Not sure.

Fire effect was nice!

Well done.

Took me back to my starcraft 2 days, highest score was I think 35.3(?)  or something similar.

Gets very chaotic fast, which is quite fun. Can be a little frustrating as the game goes on as there can be so many guys on screen that you can only reasonably drag select one at a time anyway, but maybe that's on me for letting it get out of hand!

Nice game.

This is very cute and a unique take on the limitation! I do wish there was some sort of goal as it doesn't take long to view all of the different scenes/combinations.

The disco scene is great btw.

Fun take on the limitation, I somehow missed that you could move around with WASD (apparently I can't read) and was having a rough time. Once I realised that I had a lot more fun, nice work!

I know there is a leveling system, but having select-able upgrades or something after each wave could be a fun addition too.

Very nice use of the theme/limitation, really great puzzle design too.

Super enjoyable, no notes! Well done.

Very cute, fun core mechanic and very satisfying feedback (sound/camera shake). I liked how in the later levels the larger spiky ball became sort of an issue, and needing to work out to stop it so I could crush the guy and use his skull for the last guy was a neat little puzzle.

Nice game!

I managed to die on ring 2 so I'm clearly not great at this game, but it was quite fun. I liked that I could still just continue on the same run and experience all of the upgrades. The later rings were appropriately chaotic.

Nice work.

Cute game, I think the camera shake was maybe a little too violent for my taste but otherwise pretty fun!

I only got to 153(?) as my max score. I thought I was on the god run and then I ran into a mine.

This was great, I only managed to get one special because apparently my memory is terrible, but I love the idea. Also kudos for all of the voice work and writing.

I think this is a really cool way to tell a story and is a really cohesive and interesting jam game, well done!

Also great ambience.

Thank you so much for playing, yeah there are a few bugs like that as a result of how I did riding on ramps etc, didn't quite have time to go through and fix them unfortunately.

Yes keyboard controls were unfortunately an afterthought and make the game considerably harder, hopefully you'll give it another chance with a controller.

Thanks again !

Solid puzzle game! Would have loved more levels (but totally understand that you had limited time), and as someone else commented faster rotation would be nice. But otherwise really nice!

Made it to the citadel (although it took me a couple of tries). Really fun grapple mechanic, I did not expect that music though haha.

Can the drones kill you? I don't think I got hit.

Cool game, well done.

The UI issues was just the text during conversations was shaking and moving outside of the dialogue box, and would overlap with the name (Franz/Employer). It wasn't too big of a deal though I could still read everything.

Good use of the theme but feels lacking in content, missing music and sfx. Would have loved some more levels!

Great interpretation of the theme. It was a little bit overwhelming at first, but once I played it became very clear.

Missing some music/sounds (as you have stated) and maybe a speed-up button could be nice, but other than those nitpicks of mine I really enjoyed this! Well done.

Love the blue pressure pad/detached head puzzle. Super creative, great interpretation of the theme. Controls felt really good on gamepad too.

Yeah I was very unsure about the difficulty, I didn't have any play testers and I had done nothing but play my own game for 10 days so it felt very easy for me haha. Thanks so much for playing!

My favourite game I have played so far, this has real potential and could be expanded into a full game for sure.

Failed to get the good ending on my first time through, but got it on my second. Really enjoyed this!

Simple but very addicting especially when you get on a streak of perfect paths.

Some feedback might be that maybe the graphics/aesthetic could be a little more polished, but overall the game is really nice.

Super fun!

I don't think it's an issue! It was just a misplay on my behalf that I found funny. Makes total sense why they won't work when activated at the same time.

Really cool concept and use of the theme, also really cool art style.

I feel like the first half of the game (taking calls, increasing connection etc.) in the small room was the strongest part. It felt like one of those great niche horror games that take place in one location (Iron Lung for example) and I really think it could be used to tell a really great story/make a great game.

I felt the second half, after I possessed Franz was a little weaker. Art style-wise and also story-wise, I wasn't really sure if there was a way to avoid the strange creature/spectre.

Overall though I really enjoyed your game! Well done.

There were some minor issues with the text in the UI during conversations also, but it wasn't a huge deal. (Windows download, haven't tested web build).

Really fun game, very addicting. Genuinely just zoned out and played for a while. Great use of the theme, upgrades were fun (I did accidentally force field + frenzy at the same time, which was a skill issue (EDIT: MY skill issue, not an issue with the game)).

Nice work!

Really creative concept, and genuinely fun game. I got a B score card, which may be better than my IRL dating results so hell yeah.

Cool game! I ran into a bug in the last room on the web version so I tried the windows version and the same thing happened. The enemy AI seems to go a bit rogue and they wander into the corner of the room. I was still able to pull the lever and finish the game though so no big deal.

First I really enjoyed the art style, and especially enjoyed the gun reloading animation. Movement felt good, but I wish I could jump (although I know there's no real reason to jump, it felt like an old school shooter so I wanted to bunny hop around).

I think the enemies are a bit too easy, I didn't get hit. I think if they had a projectile or were a bit faster (with maybe bigger rooms) it could have been a bit more challenging.

The idea of using the power of the gun to unlock/power doors is really cool, I wish there was a bit more done with that concept - it seems like there could be something more to explore here.

Enjoyed the game, well done.

Lovely atmosphere, art, and story. The characters each had great designs and were written well with distinct personalities and I really enjoyed the music. Unfortunately I did not solve the murder. :(

Some feedback:

I was never quite sure if I had new dialogue unlocked with each of the characters, which had me clicking through old conversations to see if there was something new I missed that would give me a new piece of evidence in the journal, maybe an indicator if there's new dialogue available? (Unless I missed this somehow).

The journal mechanic is really nice in theory but I think in practice it was a bit unclear how I was suppose to connect each piece together. Visually really well done though.

Great game!

I agree with some of the other reviewers that some game speed controls/settings would be nice, but otherwise really impressive game. Creative mechanics (and use of theme), great pixel art (and I loved the old school windows desktop theming).

Nice! Great mechanics and great use of the theme.

Very addicting.
