Hey!
Ok so, brief intro and context for my question: I work for Starlight Children's Foundation. Our mission is to deliver happiness to hospitalized kids through an assortment of tangible programs ranging from custom hospital gowns to hospital safe, portable gaming stations. Links to programs provided for sake of brevity!
> Quick TL;DR
Because of gaming and the empowerment, distraction, and sense of agency it brings to the kids we serve, I feel like our mission and goals really resonate with itch's community of devs, gamers, etc.
The catch: I'm not a developer, I've never made a bundle before, and I'm not quite sure of the inner workings of creating something to the scale of what I've seen done (thinking Queer Games Bundle, Palestinian Relief Bundle, and California Fire Relief Bundle).
In September we'll be hosting our annual activation for Childhood Cancer Awareness month. We work with hundreds of content creators during this time (many of whom are gamers) and I'd love to be able to supplement the event with a new layer amplifying the folks who truly make the power of play come to life: developers.
I've read about Jams, I've read about Co-Op bundles, but I'm wondering:
- Who are the best folks to speak to about organizing something like this?
- Is this something folks would be interested in getting involved with?
- Is this a better question for the itch Discord?
Any and all guidance is appreciated!
Thank you :)
