This is officially my favorite submission in the jam. To me, this kind of game is exactly what the eldritch genre is about. It's not some grand battle, just a person on the beach, trying not to look up.

Truly a beautiful experience, and has shown me that a very small game can be just so impactful for these things.

I wouldn't even want more gameplay, necessarily. Maybe just more dialogue, or a couple of dialogue choices. Alternatively, you could implement the mechanic that the thing in the sky only gets larger when you look at it, but eventually you have to look at it.

Amazing game, top marks from me.

Okay. This is very very awesome. I love the UI, your writing really lets the terror spill slowly in. With some sound design, and maybe some more varied documents (like recovered transcripts/videos) this could be a really special fully fledged game.

I think there's something really special at the heart of this game. The art design is wonderful. & the atmosphere is well set.

But, as it is, the game felt very repetitive and not challenging at all. And, even once I started trying to lose, I didn't really get a sense that there was a monster at all - I didn't see anything. Which I think is part of the problem in a genre about monsters we can't comprehend, but I think there is an inspired answer that could definitely work in this set up.

All the same, good work :)

I would play this game for hours ngl. Choosing to go 3rd person pov for the writing is a very inspired choice, and helps maintain the quiet dissociative removal I correlate with the dark fantasy genre. My only critique really was that I wanted more story per the amount of battles, but that's mostly because I really loved the story!

This is very cute, def made me smile. Didn't totally see how descent factored in, but I think the game is charming enough to get away with it.

Quite a well made game, congrats!! The menu writing was cute, I'm a big fan of "loving craft"

Okay, I did it! THIS GAME IS SO COOL! Definitely has inspired me to make an audio input game, because this style of interactive dialogue is really amazing. So properly dreadful, and you managed to incorporate the unknowable terror of eldritch into a visual medium extremely well. This is great work, and I'd love to collab some day!

Very cool experience with well polished writing! Just felt more like a zombie game than the existential dread of the eldritch to me.

So glad you felt that way!!! :) Thank you.

Agh, sorry for the bug.

Ah wait very cool! I may have to re-explore this later...

Had a great time with this game! Writing was direct and clear, and there were some fun puzzles to solve :) Art design was cool and consistent.

I would love more of a narrative set up for the game, but honestly, I had a good time :)

Cool environment, and I was definitely curious to explore!

I felt unsure about what to do, and the lights off hallway was a cool variation, but there doesn't seem to be much of a game here. I'd love to have something change at least a little bit, and I worry most players will assume everything is infinite without slight variations.

Still, a cool experiment!

I'm glad you did!! I can tell this is an idea you feel strongly about.

Ah thank you so much! Sorry about the bug, it's a shame you didn't get to see the endings.

We'll be patching the game after the jam, hopefully you'll return then :))

really loved this. A very cool atmosphere. My favorite line was when the journal's author suddenly addressed themselves in the 2nd person saying you need to calm down or smth. It was a really nice moment to see the turn in the story.

Also, such an interesting and active take on the theme!

Great work, cheers :)

(1 edit)

Very nice game! The environment is extremely well designed, and I enjoyed finding those letters! With a coat of polish and more content, this could be such a freaky atmospheric game. Cheers :)

This is fucking hilarious. Great work.

I really dug this game :) Cute and consistent and honestly quite sizable for the timeframe!

The story was cute but was also a little bit freaky in a way I didn't expect. The kind of dissociative normalcy of all these characters really contributed to an atmosphere that I felt could definitely hold horror.

I do have a feeling that this is just a game you've been wanting to make for a little while, and I didn't see much relation to theme, but I'm glad you made it and I'm glad to have played it! Excited to see more

Thank you both for the comments! :) Sorry about the bugs affecting gameplay. We're aware of them, and will be patching them out once the jam voting period is over!

Glad you were engaged all the same, and I hope you'll return when all is fixed!

So glad you liked :) We're really proud of it

Silly game, the opening definitely made me laugh! Really good stuff, and a fun take on the eldritch theme. The MC's journey seems very interesting and I'd love to see more.

Platformer was cool, but I got stuck at one jump I think is impossible! It was after the first diagonal wood piece. Hope I didn't miss any cool story beats!

Cheers :)

Thank you so much!! Ah, shame about the bug!

Thank you :)

I had a nice time with this game! The writing moments were cute, and the character designs were very fun.

I'm ngl, I'm disappointed to see the use of ChatGPT and Bezi in developing this game. Not a fan of gen ai at all myself, but I feel like there's a really strong heart in this game!

Amid so many dark & twisted horror games, it is nice to have something a little silly! Though I don't think it's TOTALLY eldritch, I see what you were going for.

I love that you're experimenting with dialogue systems. As someone who is always crafting dialogue, I see exactly what you're trying to do. The branches flow together well and the variety of options makes sense.

If I might be so brazen as to suggest something, I wonder what might happen if you'd started the jam process by considering what exactly the eye's state of being is like. It awakens, and then what? Why does it care about a king? Why does it even know who that is? What might the player, as the eye, want?

I find little things like this that come from a less humorous place help prop up the silliness of the work, even in a weeklong game jam!

Lovely little game, cheers!

Commenting so I remember to come back in play this in two days when I have a mic! Looks AWESOME

SUCH a cool game.  The opening monologue let me know I was in for a good ride. Beautiful writing - like both very simply stated but complex and interesting. The PC felt alive and rich and like I want to know even more about his life. Very strong VA too, and my gosh what an atmosphere. Felt like I was playing RE6 all over again.

BUT I'm too stupid to figure out the code. I was reading all the different clippings and trying to add numbers together but I'm just not getting it. Devs, help me!!

I will most certainly return to play then :)

I'd gladly return and play it!! :)

Never ever in the year of our lord 2025 did I expect to be Rick Rolled.

Very cool game! I loove interactive fiction, that's my whole thing. Writing was sharp & dynamic :)

Like Althar, I got stuck when freefalling which sucks because I really wanted to see where the game was going! I'll def return if this gets fixed

Not totally sure how the eldritch theme factors in but I bet I would've gotten there if I didn't get locked.

Same issue as Althar, I can't open the game :( A shame!

Really fun, really solid!! Reading the other comments I LOVE your idea that the gun is useless. Def hard to show the player why their interactable element can't be used to interact but I think that's exactly in theme for the genre.

Monster design is my fav part for sure, those eye tentacles hehe

Super cool stuff :) Would love to play this in an arcade!

Thank you for letting us know! We had hoped we squashed that bug :/

Sorry you encountered it, but hope you had a good time playing <3

BEAUTIFUL art design. So alluring and striking off the jump. I'd be really curious to see where this goes

I was def a little confused about the game mechanics, but I think this game is awesome!

Hello! I'd love to work together. I'm a writer (who dabbles in programming) & game director forming a team right now! Here's some of my stuff: https://stargirlwriting.itch.io/

I'd love to talk more, my discord is stargirlwriting

Aww, thank you! That means a lot :)

Thank you :') Extremely happy to make you cry <3

Thank you so much :) So glad you liked it!
