It's not abandoned! I was on hiatus for pretty much all of 2025 so that's why it hasn't been updated in so long. I am still working on the game and have been making progress on it
I'm really happy to hear you enjoyed it and that my skills have improved over the years. Besides having some help with a couple lines at the start of the demo, I wrote the entire thing all by myself :D
You caught on to so much of what I was going for! Cole has a lot of complexity to him that I can't wait to show more of. Surely his tendencies to possessiveness won't come back to haunt us...
That Guy was a bit of a diversion, but he will be very involved in the next part of the story. Now that I have a design for him, I think he's inevitably going to become a love interest himself :3c
And nice catch on the music! When I first heard that song, I noticed the same thing and thought it was absolutely perfect for Cole. (And I love hearing the appreciation for his design hehe)

I'm super glad to hear the story seems interesting, and I feel like you caught on to a lot of what I was going for. If I do end up going with multiple love interests (which is what I am strongly leaning towards at this point), Guy will 100% be an option!

And I won't go into too much detail, but the medical stuff isn't too bad. I will have to take some time off from work, but that will most likely be next year. I'm hoping to finish as much as I can before that.
There are currently 9-10 chapters planned! I'll probably keep releasing it chapter by chapter until halfway through, and then I want to release the last half of the game all at once.

But I'm hard at work on the next chapter, and I will be releasing an extended demo when it's complete. (There will be a bit more info in a devlog I'm posting later today!)

There is no currently release date for the full game, but I'm hard at work on the next part! I'll make an announcement whenever the new update is ready to play
Are you on PC or Mac? Once you download and extract the files, go to the extracted folder and open it. There should be something that is labeled invite me in, and the file type will be listed as an application. If you double click it, it should open the demo.

Did only 2 hearts show up at the end? Some sort of error must have occurred since there should always be 3 hearts. What type of computer are you playing on?
If anyone else has this issue, please let me know so I can look into it!
And yes, please feel free to take creative liberties with the art! As long as you can tell it's inspired by the illustration in some way, you can come up with whatever you want. It doesn't have to be the same pose, and you can build off the ideas however you please. It's a very open-ended challenge!
