I'll continue looking into a future save system. I need to know a little more about code than I do right now, though. I wanted to try to incorporate something for book 2, but I couldn't get it to work the way I wanted it to. 

As for how the choices will be implemented, there will be two options at the beginning: you can read a recap of the events of book 1 and answer questions about your choices and then there's the short recap that's questions only.

Trading a secret or trading a memory take immediate effect and dont have lasting consequences (in book 1 at least). Choosing a kiss isnt something thatll have an effect until later and it wont really effect your romance.

It has nothing tl do with updates. Be careful using the in browser saves. Theyre saved to your local storage and if you delete your cookies or empty the cache or if your settings do it automatically those saves will disappear

To avoid this problem choose "save to disk" and your save file will save on your actual device

lmao if you click the "save to disk" option, it'll save a file to your device and you can do that to your heart's content. Im not sure if it works the same way on mobile though

Do you mean saves to your browser (hitting save and then just clicking one of the numbers slots)? Because those get erased when removing cookies or clearing out a browser session (as far as I know). In order to prevent that, when you hit save, go down to the bottom of the save window where it says "Save to Disk". This will save it to your actual device. Next time when you start the game, just go to the saves and hit "Load from Disk", this will give you the option to select the save from your files. (For me, my saves usually go into my downloads folder.)

(And as far as I know, it's not possible to get the saves back. I'm sorry.)
