To clarify, it wasn't any long-lasting, profound stuff or anything like that, it was like. "Oh, Aella's going to be an out of touch little moron. Nevermind, we actually like him, yay!" I'm mostly just fond of being pleasantly surprised, even if it's a fairly standard inversion of a trope. Sorry there wasn't a more meaningful answer to that question lol

This was impeccably good. It did a great job of making me think I was going to dislike an aspect of it, but making me warm up to it very quickly. Loved the characters and the art by the end, and the story, though a bit cliche, is still heartwarming. Though... Can't say I've ever been jumpscared by a sex scene before, but honestly, the suddenness and almost... tone-breaking nature of it makes me love it all the more. I love how much folklore is mentioned too, and having done so much research on stuff on my end, being able to pick a bunch of them out made this super fun to read through. Overall, really enjoyed it!

This was a short, cute, fun story. I was actually pretty interested in the folklore specifically here - the idea behind the festival and the lore surrounding it was really interesting. The story itself, however, leaves a bit to be desired, glossing over and handwaving some events as if fulfilling a checklist and not telling a story. That, however, is something I can attribute to the fact that this is a jam and time constraints. I'd love to see this part of the tale returned to when the rest is added and fleshed out some more, finishing up the sketchy backgrounds and polishing up the story. I think you'd have a real gem if you did c:

I can see the bud of a truly fascinating story here, and I'm definitely interested in seeing it continue. As it is though, it's... difficult for me to give a proper review, seeing as it feels like we just got a couple vertical slices of a grander narrative. That said, I think that might play into the story's favor. It's a bit of a fever dream, where you always think you know what's going to happen next, but you always wind up just 10 or 15 degrees off the mark.

I interpret it almost as a trailer you'd see for a film, where you get snippets of the plot fed to you to grab your attention, and want to get the answers to what bridges those gaps by going and seeing it. And, to be perfectly honest, my attention's been grabbed. I'd love to see more!

This has no right to be as funny as it is. I applaud you. And also hate you. (affectionately.)

@SpiriGladier on discord, EST :3

I figured it would and that hurts my poor fragile heart uwu'

That's entirely fair but God I'm just so nervous about the pain I know it'll cause me uwu Maybe once the story's all wrapped up or something.

This is, without question, the BEST VN I have ever played. I've only touched on Shoichi's story at present, and unfortunately it's going to have to stay that way because I'm an absolute sap and cannot fathom abandoning the "canon" (for lack of a better word, though I'm sure it's accurate) love interest for the others.

That statement, while cheesy, should be taken into account though, as I'm too afraid of hurting a set of sprites' feelings. It's a testament to how well written this damn thing is, and while it's an absolute rollercoaster of emotions from start to finish, only getting more insane and unpredictable as we near a crescendo, I cannot imagine offering anything but the highest of praise for it.

WOTB, you have me by the fucking balls waiting for the next update. I eagerly await you absolutely blending my heart even more in February with the next Shoichi build.
