I care a bit about karma. I won't download a game, it's too risky for me, but anyone who leaves a comment on my game with a webGL build I prioritize playing and commenting on theirs. I appreciate their effort and want to reciprocate.

I do feel really bad for the downloadable games who have high karma though.

My biggest wins:

  • Getting to see everyone else's games! There are some amazing games, and it's been eye opening to see all the different game types and levels of polish.
  • I was able to correctly scope my game.
  • I discovered the art style I plan to use on future games because it's so simple.
  • I made a game in my first ever game jam, and I'm really pleased with how it turned out
  • Making new friends

My biggest losses:

  • The type of game I was making has a specific type of playstyle apparently and I did not use it
  • I wanted to use SVG's of Kanji so that as puzzles got solved it would draw out the actual character, but I ran out of time
  • On a sillier note, does sleep count? Cause that was probably my biggest loss :D

This was beautiful. It made me cry. Not only was there connection in the puzzle there was also connection in the story. You did an amazing you with this game.

Thank you for letting me know. I'll need to fix those hints. I'm glad you liked the game even with that!

Thank you! That's the vibe I was aiming for so I'm glad it came through.

Thank you!

I feel really bad I forgot to mention this in the existing assets section. I generated the menu background and cloud buttons/platform using chatGPT, and the music using Suno.

They are included in the credits in my game, I wasn't trying to hide it, I just failed to connect generated with existing when I should have.

I'm so sorry!

This was a lot of fun. The swap between switch and draw was a mechanic I haven't seen before and it was really cool. There might need to be some tooling around with the difficulty it was really hard to clear the levels.

This was really fun the dialogue was great and funny! You did a great job setting up the scenario and the game play was smooth.

It's really impressive that you did this with all your own assets. I liked that you included the crawl, most game don't have a down feature it that way so that was a cool distinct feature.

What's the size of your data.br file? I haven't run across this issue but I can try and help troubleshoot it

My jaw dropped as I played this game. Especially the ending. The way you applied elements of HD-2D was really cool. Your player character was well done and the animations were beautiful and smooth. And I love the camerawork at the end. It really pulled it all together and made the conclusion feel really satisfying.

This game was really interesting to play. You chose the perfect aesthetic for it and it was interesting seeing how the AI learned. The story and dialog was hilarious and some of it definitely had me wondering if was based on really online comments

This was a cool game. You did a good job of setting up the sneak gameplay loop in a way that was fun and the atmosphere was perfect for the noir vibes. I liked the way you framed the story too. I did notice there were some objects that I could clip through but that's more for if y'all are planning to continue this game after the jam.

This one sucked my in for while it was interesting seeing how all the different pieces could fit together.

There's something oddly satisfying about this. What you've got here is simple and a lot of fun.

This was a lot of fun! the music was perfect for this. Your parallax was really good. It added a lot of depth to the scene and it was so smooth it took me awhile to notice it. All together your game had a very cohesive feel.

Your game is amazing! The sound effects are really satisfying and the feedback for connection attempts is really well done. Everything was just so polished I wouldn't have thought it was a game jam game.

Hey thanks for sharing your game! The camera shake when the bats died was a cool effect.

Thank you so much. It'll definitely be fun to build it out into something more

Thank you!

Thank you so much!

Thank you so much for you feedback. Having my next version of this use a mouse is definitely something I'll consider

Yeah this was my first time making a game like this and I didn't even think about using a mouse until I was too far in to change it. It's definitely something I'm going to think about for future versions though. Thank you for your feedback!

I saw you posting about this game on the discord. This is so cool! Congrats on being the first to do a game jam game like this. The music was really great and the atmosphere was amazing thinking about building in 3D like this game does makes my head hurt and you pulled it off wonderfully.

I love your itch page design. And the game is delightful the music is the perfect backdrop and having the stars fade over time is a good way of adding passive pressure. I really enjoyed this game.

It was a lot of fun controlling the horse, this is the kind of game that I would have spent hours playing when I was younger. The animations were fantastic, the music fit well.

Like some of the other commentors, I had a hard time knowing what I was supposed to do. Maybe having a guide path on the first level so players can get a visual idea of where they're supposed to go could be helpful?

Overall this was a really solid game and the controls felt great.

This was a really cool concept. It reminded me of a puzzle game I played when I was younger about how to build simple machines out of everyday items. I especially liked the bell to cat connection with the cat turning the sound into motion. It was a cool way of showing cause and effect.

I really liked the sfx you chose too.

Oh no it didn't ruin my experience at all! This was a delightful game to play and you all did an amazing job on it!

Sorry if my feedback came through as too critical.

This was a lot of fun and I liked the story intro although I wasn't able to read fast enough to read everything before it went on to the next part. Having a next button on that part might be helpful so players can move forward at their own pace.

I really enjoyed playing this game. Rolling the ball around was so much fun!

And the music was perfect.

One thing I did notice though was that hitting f9 when I got stuck kicked me out of the game. Was that the expected behavior?

This was a great game. Using the plug as a grappling hook was a smart way to connect to the theme. I also really like the music.

It happened on the menu, the first time I tried playing it I couldn't see the buttons. This time I was able to play it. It was a cool idea, it's a bit of tag and a bit of hide and seek. I also really liked the sfx you chose, they were perfect.

This game is so cohesive. The music fits perfectly the background is great. The sound effects are all on point and the controls were really intuitive.

Besst of all it was really fun to play.

I'm so glad this game was a good experience for you! Thank you for your feedback as well I will definitely be applying all of it.

Thank you for playing my game! Yeah, the controls need work. I think in the future I'm going to shift over to point and click.

Thank you so much! Yeah this game came together a lot more easily then the last one I worked on. Being around so many people with more experience has really helped accelerate my learning.

Thank you so much for playing my game!

Thank you so much for playing my game and for your feedback!

I love that the eyes track the mouse on the main screen. What a great way to set the tone. I takes a few playthroughs to get the hang of the mechanics but that's not a bad thing. It's a lot of fun to play around with the controls and I love the incorporated connections into your game.
