Thanks so much for the feedback! The world is what rotates, not the player

I really wanted to showcase my work as a Technical Artist with custom shaders, VFX, and terrains, but I ran out of time during the jam to implement them as I envisioned. I’m planning to resume the project soon to add all those visual details, sound design, and a system to navigate between any face of the cube. Since 3D modeling isn't my main focus, I’ll be using external assets for the models so I can double down on the technical and environmental side. Thanks again for taking the time to ask!

I absolutely loved the eerie atmosphere! The 3D models are gorgeous and there’s a great sense of visual consistency throughout the game. The UI is very sleek, and the lighting and sound design do a great job of setting the mood. It was a great experience overall!

Thanks a lot, man! I'm really glad you liked the concept. It’s definitely incomplete as I prioritized the core mechanics for this jam, but I’m happy the foundation is there. I’ll check out your game for sure and leave some feedback soon

I like the pixel art aesthetic! It gives the game such a neat look, and the gravity-swapping is a nice  mechanic.

One thing that caught me off guard was the directional inputs flipping when the gravity shifts. It makes the platforming a bit tricky to master, so keeping the controls consistent might help the gameplay flow better. Also, I think a slightly more guided tutorial or some extra onboarding would be a great addition to help players get the hang of the mechanics right from the start.

The audio is solid and fits the vibe well. Keep it up!

O-M-G, I can’t believe what I just played! Three people did this in a single week? That’s insane! You guys realize this is basically at the level of a full-release game right? Just imagine what you could achieve in a month! Honestly, this is the best game I've tried in the jam so far, 5 stars across the board because you absolutely earned them.

It’s absolutely polished! I completed it 100% and loved the mysterious concept, the gorgeous art ♥ and the UI screens, the plot, the particles, the variety of environments, and the SFX details were spot on. I especially loved how the sound varies when pressing the same key multiple times (great attention to detail!). The hand cursor movement is so fluid, and the puzzles are amazing! There are so many mechanics: logic, point-and-click, throwing, numbers, wiring, and more. It’s wonderful. I got myself thinking that I would love to play the other character puzzles too!

Seriously, this game 100% deserves to be featured by Brackeys or even win a category. What you’ve achieved in a week is incredible: highly functional, polished, well-designed, cohesive, and complete. Congratulations! It was a fantastic experience! 🏆

I loved the atmosphere! You really nailed the toxic cave vibe, the sound work is excellent, and honestly, with a few tweaks, this feels like a solid vertical slice for a bigger game. Most jam projects feel like tech demos  (due to lack of time, not like of ability), but here you’ve successfully integrated art, sound, UI, movement and mechanics into a nice game

A few suggestions:

  • Readability: The text font definitely needs to be scaled up; it's a bit hard to read right now.
  • Telegraphing: It would be great to have a clearer indicator when a threat is coming, maybe through directional audio or a screen effect
  • Environment: For the small stones, I’d suggest using random scaling so they don't look like placed props. Blending them more with the cave floor and adding some rock outcrops on the walls would break up the tiling and make the cave feel more natural.
  • UX/Feedback: If sprinting is limited by item weight, a weight indicator in the UI would clear up that confusion immediately.

Overall, this was a nice experience. Huge congrats!

This feels like such a complete and cohesive experience! It’s clear that every detail was well thought out, from the mechanics to the overall presentation.

I absolutely loved the character designs (they have their own personality) and the voice is a nice touch that really brings the world to life. It’s a pretty unique project and I had a fun time playing  it. Honestly, I’m blown away by how much you managed to do in just 7 days! Awesome job to the whole team!

I love the weapon evolution! It’s a challenging game with a great atmosphere, I really liked the pixel art and I appreciate the replayability factor

To enhance the experience I’d suggest working on the camera movement. It feels a bit jittery and unresponsive at times. I couldn't finish it (probably a skill issue on my part), but it was a great experience nonetheless. Nice one!!

What A triiip broo! The controls are smooth, the camera rotation is spot on, and it’s genuinely fun to play. Doing all this in just one week is nuts!

If I had to add one thing, it would be an 'enemies left' counter, just so the player knows exactly when the room is cleared. Other than that the experience is wild! Great job!

Your first game? That’s amazing! I really liked the art style and the shooting mechanics felt super smooth.

One tip:  you might want to look into how to rotate just the arms (using separate layers) instead of the whole body when aiming. It’ll make the animations feel much more natural!

Overall, for a first project, this is really impressive work. Great job! 🚀

Wow! This is so polished it’s hard to believe it was made for a jam! I loved the animations, the unique grayscale art style, and the story is really engaging. I didn't find a single bug!

If I had to suggest one improvement, it would be the text speed: maybe adding a way to skip the typing effect or making it faster so we can read the full text with one click. Other than that, amazing work! Congrats!

Love the visuals and the map-swapping concept! But I got to be honest, the controls were quite frustrating for me. I spent 15 minutes struggling even with the short maps. If you focus on improving the responsiveness  the experience will be 100% better. Great effort!

Hi everyone! I hope you all had a great game jam and lots of fun! 🥂

UPDATE: Submissions are now CLOSED! 🛑

Sorry to everyone! I'm honestly overwhelmed by the incredible response! I really want to give every game the quality, honest review it deserves, but I’ve reached a point where I simply don't have enough time to take on more links. I'm closing the thread to focus on the games already here. Thank you so much for understanding and for sharing your projects!

I’m making this post because  I genuinely want to play your games and share some honest feedback from a fellow dev's perspective. I’m not a senior or a guru—just someone who works as a Tech Artist and loves games. I want to provide honest thoughts that might be useful, rather than those 'nice game' reviews where people just swap ratings without really playing it or feeling it.

In fact, I’m not even asking for a Rate for Rate (R8xR8). I couldn't fully complete the original vision I had for my project; I worked as a solo dev with the personal challenge of not using any AI. Since I hadn't done any heavy programming in two years, I was a bit rusty and it took me quite a while to get things moving. Still, I’m proud of what I achieved and even more of everything I learned during this week!

If you’d like to check "Hexa Somnia" anyway (just a heads-up: it has no props or sound) here is the link:  https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-15/rate/4313510 But seriously, don’t feel obligated to play it. I just want to be helpful to the community and offer my humble reviews.

Drop your links below and I'll get to work ASAP! 🚀

Thanks for playing!! Yeah Totally! I can't really finished it as I envisioned, it lacks all the art, VFX and sound.... but I will do it in the next days (outside the jam). I will definitely try your game!
