Atraesia : Labyrinth

We follow Alesuer d' Saega, a young Servant of the Holy Guard, who has travelled by sailboat to Atraesia, a newly discovered land. In this new world are the Avicai, a strange race of bird-people who live in the jungle.

It has been tasked upon Alesuer to meet a local tribe of these Avicai in the jungle, and baptize them under the One-God. But his mission becomes complicated, as while passing through Avicaian territory a mysterious spell is cast onto him. The world suddenly twists and changes, and becomes an inescapable labyrinth...

And so he must escape...

[Gameplay]
This game is a heavily story-based RPG, with puzzle elements that the player must solve to progress through the game. It's pixel styled, but the game is actually 3D, and the puzzles typically involve rotating the camera / navigation.

The game progresses linearly, and is broken down into chapters. A lot of focus is also put on interacting with characters.

[Progress]

So far the first chapter is complete (note: a small introduction section is missing from this video), and there's maybe 3 or 4 chapters in total. Most of the foundational stuff is complete,  and I'm hoping for a release not too far off. The major thing missing right now is the sounds, all the current sounds are placeholders.

Here's a list of things to complete:

  • Sound effects / music
  • Upcoming maps / puzzles
  • Writing (for future cutscenes / interactions)
  • UI design (I just want a simple UI though - Current UI is placeholder)

Other than that, we've already completed most (if not all) of the characters to be in the game. Here's a list of most of the character tiles created:

Thanks for reading! Hope you like it!
