Guys the game has to be paid for now on Steam for $14.99 usd. Go get it there for the full game.
I wish the dev had said that on this old page. Tbh I didn't even know it was on itch until I looked up the game online after seeing it on YouTube.
So glad I could help! I found the site one day by searching a lot for indie Japanese games since I like to play them. The site's easy to sign up with, I suggest using a browser plugin to translate it unless you use Microsoft Edge like I do which comes built with it.
You're one of my fav creators on this site so I jumped at seeing the email I got about the Japanese release. I really think you're underrated, and I'd love to see more people learn about your games.
If you need help with signing up, I do have this article which can help. I don't cover how to submit a game though, so I can't really help with that unfortunately. I don't use this account for my blog which is why the name is different.
Just wanted to say, I noticed you released the Japanese version of the game, and I wanted to suggest also adding it to Novel Game Collection since it's the Japanese version of Itch.io. https://novelgame.jp I think you'd reach more of their audience there too.
I'd suggest polishing up the existing art since it looks incomplete and adding in better background art that can be drawn like how the CG's are drawn.
Also, the writing for the romance could be more fleshed out. With Kael the romance felt like it needed more time to develop, and it felt like it kinda happened too fast despite his trauma and how he and Elara's story was going. If you make the pace a bit slower and more natural, allowing them to have more time together and more conversations, you could really convince me they love each other in the Reverie ending.
With Corvin, the romance always felt so forced. It gets a bit better later on but part of the reason I went with Kael first is because in Corvin's Paradise ending he still makes it so forced, and I never felt like going with him fit the plot anyway since Elara wants freedom, but all Corvin does is take that away again.
I'm probably missing context for Corvin since I didn't get one ending of his. It's the only one I'm missing in the game.
Other than that, I absolutely loved the world building and your intricate writing style. I was hooked from the first few sentences. I hope this feedback helps!
I think it could so it's worth a try. And changing your region on the app store would probably fix it too but Idk which countries the app is allowed in so you'd have to try a few of them. I would think it would definitely be allowed in Australia since that's where the devs are from, according to the Kickstarter.
Really loved the writing in the demo! I just need Arden and Lorelai to have character art too. Side note, I wish in the Kickstarter there would have been a mention about Mikeal having they/them pronouns. It's fine if they have them but I can see someone backing it without playing the demo, thinking everyone will be having he/him pronouns like in a lot of otome games mostly aimed at a female audience and being upset they weren't warned in advance.
I really like the game so far! I finished the demo with some difficulty since I was stuck at the banquet hall. At first I was stuck because when Dylan said "...or take a look at the stone sculpture near the trophy..." I was looking for the sculpture which wasn't there. I thought I was going crazy until I clicked the wall right next to the trophy. It just wasn't clear to me to do that and other people may find issues with this as well. So even though I figured that out I then became stuck because after looking at the statue I figured I would either sit at the dining table as Dylan suggested or look at the blue vase as pink haired guy suggested. The problem is that I can't sit at any dining table and there is no clickable blue vase to be found. Thankfully @robot439 in the comments linked their playthrough below and I found out I needed to click the tablecloth next to pinkhaired guy instead of the blue vase next to him to finish the demo.
The game was interesting and I liked the atmosphere. I didn't like how I was stuck in the love ending and could not figure out what to do so I had to go with the Knowledge ending instead. The love ending puzzle was a little nonsensical and not something I would have thought to do since it was out of the ordinary. Otherwise it's a good short game that kept me interested until the end.
This is one of the best visual novels I have played in a long time! The story was very interesting and kept me engaged through the whole game along with the wonderfully selected soundtrack.
The art was such a nice style that fit the story so well. This game left me wanting more because there were hints about Hugo's backstory in the main story that went unresolved, plus I want to see Hugo and Noah get together in a follow up game if they're destined to be together!
If you guys ever plan on making a sequel I'd definitely pay money for it. The fact that a game of this quality is free to play is wild to me.
