Salt & Silver - free demo out now on itch.io

You arrive in the New World with a ship and a past you don't talk about. Trade honestly between the islands, or turn pirate: board merchantmen, sell the cargo to fences, and duel Navy and pirate ships with round, chain and heated shot. You can even get your pirate crew drunk on grog!!

A top-down trading and pirate game with a story to follow. I'm a solo dev (Neutronic Games), and the demo covers the opening of the main quest line.

Free on Windows: https://sinisterviking69.itch.io/salt-and-silver

I'd love honest feedback - what hooked you, and where you got bored or stuck.

Hi everyone! I've just released the free demo of my first game, Salt & Silver – a top-down sailing and trading adventure set in the 18th-century Caribbean.

You captain a small ship, buy cheap and sell dear between island ports, and try to make a name for yourself on dangerous waters. The demo drops you into the story three months in: you're running errands for a governor, smuggling for a lady who swears he's a thief, and keeping an eye on her cousin – a young captain the Navy would love to hang. What's in the demo:

• Open-sea sailing with wind, swells, storms and day and night

• Trading between ports – sugar, spices, rum, timber, cloth and tobacco

• Taverns, markets and shipyards • Cannon battles against pirates (watch out for the Black Gull)

• Two story quests, ending with a visit to the Bone-Reader It's free (Windows), and takes around 30–60 minutes to play through. I'm a solo developer and this is my first release, so I'd really love your honest feedback – what you enjoyed, what confused you, and anything that broke. Every comment helps shape the full game.

Thanks for taking a look!
