for some reason the third act (like after the metropolis) when I descend to the mission, there are two models of the ship and the alien herself, and after I go to metropolis again, everything is black but the game is still ok for some reason

I'm more interested in the cause of death, but since vets examined the body, I guess they would've told if they found traces of rabies, But they could probably say more if they do the autopsy. Living beings don't normally just die without reason, and I'm leaning towards rabies since like you said they were fighing other dogs a lot
