I hope you come back to completing it. You have a strong grasp on perspective, so I think you'll do great!

I really like the dark, foggy mood you've established across all four pieces. The consistent color palette shows great artistic vision! To take this set to the next level without losing that misty feel, I would recommend adding a few elements to give the viewer a sense of scale. For example, adding a tiny silhouette of a bird, a falling rock, or even that same creature in the distance would make the cliffs look massive. You could also add some subtle, pale highlights to the very edges of the rocks to help define their shapes against the fog, or lean into the watercolor look with some splatters or drips to make the texture feel intentional. Right now, it's a great mood piece, but a little bit of added scale or edge definition would make it feel like a finished world!
This is a very clean, polished character design. The soft coloring and the cool-toned gradient on the wings are really pleasing to look at, and the pose feels natural. It gives me a nice sticker-feel. If you ever revisit this, I think you could make the wings feel more dynamic by adding subtle shading and maybe experimenting with the thick outer outline to help them blend more naturally.
The cloud-digging idea is genuinely fantastic, and you have great painting skills on that cloud! To fix the disconnect, I would recommend adding some soft shading and highlights to the lizards so they have the same 3D volume as the clouds. Even a simple drop-shadow underneath each lizard where it touches the cloud would instantly make them feel like they are actually landing on or burrowing into the surface, rather than floating on top of it.
Other than that, I really love the concept of creatures that 'swim' through clouds; that's a very creative and playful take on the sky island theme.
The idea is really creative! A bat courier living in a high-altitude castle is a cool twist on a sky island setting. Giving it a mask/goggles makes sense if it's flying through harsh mountain weather. It's a unique character concept.
I would recommend sketching the whole body next, giving it clearly bat-like wings, and maybe adding a little messenger bag or a tiny letter in its claws to show the 'delivery' part.
I think this is a really great start with a nice color palette! To take it to the next level, I would recommend adding some shadows underneath the castle and rocks so they don't look like they're floating on the island. Even just a little bit of contrast would make this piece pop!
I think this has a really soft, dreamy feel to it. The pastel colors and the misty clouds around the base of the island give it a gentle, atmospheric vibe.
Really nice work! I think you captured a striking and dark energy. The contrast between the dark, skeletal armor and the huge white wings immediately draws the eye. The lighting is especially nice, with a warm, dusty glow behind the character, which makes the armor pop.
It also gives me WoW: Shadowlands vibes—specifically Torghast! I would highly recommend looking at some of the artwork from there, because I think your piece would fit right in with the environment and design.
The only thing I had a question about was the weapon, as it looks like a cross between a sword and a scythe, so I wondered exactly what it was meant to be.
Great stuff overall!
Love this track a lot! What're you using for the instruments? I usually go with EastWest's RA, Silk, and I've been liking Baklava Sounds too. Very clean submission overall, and gives me the 'discovering the weapon' vibe overall. I like creative approaches like this, where I can't predict the instruments and composition from the start. If the Uniqueness category were here, I'd give it a 5/5 in that category.
I do like the innovation here, the sax is interesting, though I think that perhaps it could've been switched out with perhaps another loud instrument, or maybe even double-downed and dueted from 3:50ish on, because it definitely could've gone harder.
Overall, a great piece and well-composed battle track, and I think the mix is really good. The instrumentation with the synths nails that old-school dark vibe.
saxobone
Well done. The strings are a nice touch, and the piano is wonderful. The balance between melodic elements and sound effects is great, not overwhelming, but rather integrated well for the scene. I think some slow panning of the ticking sound would have been nice to create variety in the track.
Great work! Would love to hear more of your stuff in the future!
I liked this track a lot, the voice-work is impeccable and definitely helps complement the warbly and vocoded parts. Overall, it gives me a whimsical factory come to life. The machine noises could be toned down a bit at some points to let the other instruments take center, but altogether, I love the vibe.
Instead of going big and loud, which you'd typically expect from a factory, I like the more ambient vibe you went with. It's spacious and captures the factory's scale, almost like a liminal space inside of it. The sound work captures it well with the distance and softness. Great work! I wonder how your take on Scene 2 would've played out as well.
Really good vocals here. I wish the track were longer, of course. I enjoyed parts of the tremolo, though I think at some points it was a bit overwhelming, and I would've liked to hear the 'less-tremolated' vocals. You did a great job capturing the sheer scale of the colossus and its imposing aura!
I love the 3D render you made for the art; the lightning is a bit thicc 😩
Firstly, I enjoyed reading through the devlog! I've noticed I do very similar notes, but in a notepad, lol.
The track gives such whimsical and magical vibes. It actually reminds me of Kingdom Hearts, but specifically the Alice in Wonderland world (overall, a walk through an enchanted area vibe). I also think the Day 6 track could've also worked in succession to Stroll Through The Garden, with some tweaking done. Thematically, I could see it being a darker tone, perhaps the introduction to the dreaded season of Summer.
Love the composition! I think the upbeat route for this jam is rather hard to do, due to the nature of the image, but I think you did a great job capturing the floral-ness of Spring! The image is also cute and shows the playfulness of the track itself, birds are so energetic and full of life, which is shown throughout your submission! At 1:25, you even have that subtle nod to Vivaldi's Spring, and it's done in a simple but effective way. Great work!
I love the variety of sounds in this track; it's daring and works so well (one of the things that makes experimental so cool!). I think some low-end, like you mentioned, would've been a nice touch, but nonetheless, amazing work! I can't wait to see more of your creations. The electronic/experimental group always comes up with the most interesting interpretations!
Honestly gives me Chordata Bytes I vibes, minus the vocals.
I like the darker tone you've gone with for this jam! The transition between winter and spring will always just remind me of groundhogs lol. I think your interpretation is keen as well, as I never really thought about the background of the woman in the image, but I see it from your perspective! I think the reverb is a bit concert hall-like (but tbh I like the immersion of this being a piece being played live).
