so cute

Totally agree, that makes so much sense! Closing the tab definitely shouldn't count as getting stuck. Asking them directly sounds like a great call to see what’s actually happening.

Hi everyone! I’m looking for first-time feedback on DRILL!, a free oil-company management game set inside a 1991 corporate desktop.

You drill for oil, manage safety, sell your inventory, read reports and answer mail while trying to keep the company running for 12 weeks.

Some recorded runs haven’t progressed beyond Week 1. That alone doesn’t tell me why, so I’d like to understand what the opening feels like to someone seeing it for the first time.

If you have a few minutes this weekend, could you try the tutorial and first week? You don’t need to finish the game.

I’m especially interested in:
• Was it clear what to do next?
• Did you understand how to sell oil and cover operating costs?
• If you stopped, what was happening at that moment—confusion, a technical issue, losing interest, or simply running out of time?

Blunt feedback is welcome. Even “I got stuck on this screen” would help.

Play: https://sihunkim.itch.io/drill

Free, no installation or required login. English and Korean supported. PC and mouse recommended; mobile browsers are also supported.

Hey everyone! Thanks for playing DRILL!

Hope you’re enjoying the game! If you have any feedback, suggestions, or run into any bugs, please leave a comment below—I’d love to hear your thoughts.

Also, if you beat the game, drop your final earnings in the comments! Let’s see who made the biggest fortune!

Thank you!! That's exactly the vibe I was going for! I'm so glad you like it :)

Thank you so much!! It really means a lot to me. I'm glad you enjoyed the game, even if you only played for a short time! I'm still working on improving it, so I hope you'll come back and give it another try sometime :)

Thanks! Did you get a chance to play it? I'd love to hear your feedback.

Hi everyone! We’ve released the first public beta of DRILL!, a free browser management game where your office is a 1991 corporate desktop.

Play the free beta on itch.io →

Actual DRILL gameplay: overlapping oil market, drilling and newspaper windows

Actual gameplay: your whole company runs through this desktop.

You have twelve weeks to keep an oil company afloat. Adjust production and safety, sell oil before operating costs eat your cash, answer urgent mail, and decide which newspaper reports and internal files to trust. Reserves, field conditions and market events vary between runs, so a profitable plan can still end in accidents, debt or scandal.

  • A complete twelve-week campaign, with 101 endings and 54 achievements.
  • An interactive tutorial using the actual game controls.
  • Free browser play, with no installation or required login.
  • English and Korean. Optimized for PC and mouse, and also playable in mobile browsers.

This is a public beta, and we’d appreciate honest first-session feedback. Where did you first get stuck? Did the tutorial make it clear how to drill, compare information and sell oil?

I lead the concept, balance and playtesting with our small team. AI assistance was used in parts of development, including coding; the concept and presentation were directed and refined by our team.

Thanks for trying it! If you finish a run, we’d love to hear how your company ended.
