It's probably something with your browser cookies, are you using something like incognito mode where they're not saved?
(And do you really need the saves?! It's not a particularly long game...)

the resource folder with the .zip files needs to be in the same directory as .exe
and no fullscreen

you can...middle mouse click or ctrl+click

This is not the game to expect those for and I am not that kind of artist.
