It's going to be a BIG update, the next character will have a new, quite involved arcade game and a very involved set of animations plus dialogue improvements, visual enhancements... there's news about it on my p*treon :^)
It's probably something with your browser cookies, are you using something like incognito mode where they're not saved? (And do you really need the saves?! It's not a particularly long game...)
I'm working on new update that should better support fullscreen, etc. so be ready for that
